Yet again I have to thank my new friend, Craigie, in Halifax, Yorkshire, for bringing this to my attention on Facebook. Thank you, again, Craigie. I have come to realize that she is even MORE of a ‘red poppy’ devotee than I — and that takes some doing.
Amazingly clever. Bravo. So evocative and spot on. I initially thought they were made out of clear plastic. I was wrong. Wire mesh. How brilliant.
And it works so, so well. I am humbled.
When I first saw the pictures it reminded me of the ‘Korean War Memorial’ in Washington, D.C. But, on reflection they are very different. I think the Slimbridge ghosts are so realistic. Wow.
I really am in awe.

I Got My ‘Old Man’, Over 65, ‘Fluzone High-Dose’ Flu Shot Today — At ‘Dartmouth Hitchcock’ In Concord.
I used to be ultra-skeptical about flu shots — BUT that was when I was younger and fitter.
I nearly died, this time that year, in 2010! See below. WOW — 9-years ago, and I was at least 35 lbs heavier!
I started getting the flu shot the next winter.
I am still new to the old-man flu shot. This was but my 2nd year. I really don’t know. I can’t say I sail through each winter.
But, the deed is DONE. No one but no one can now complain and nag. I got my flu shot and I got the right old-man one.
Fingers crossed. YIKES.

It wasn’t much and I am NOT complaining. It was a dusting and what we had, technically, were intermittent squalls. Also nothing overnight as had been suggested. This was quite late. Around 10:30am.
I had gone and got two of my best snow shovels ready for the day. Didn’t need them.
Later in the afternoon ‘Home Depot’ called that my super-duper snow blower was delivered — ready for us to pick up. Will do so on Monday. Life will never be the same again. SMILE.
