Wales v England Showdown Is Possible At The Rugby World Cup 2019, But Unlikely.

by Anura Guruge

For it to happen now, both England and Wales will have to win their respective semi-finals this weekend. That would mean a England v Wales final. That would be great for us the British, but, alas, I just don’t think it will happen.

Why? The New ZealandAll Blacks‘ — defending Champions from not just the last World Cup, but the one before that too.

They have been awesome. Just magical to watch. While England, obviously, has played well to get to the Semis, I just have a sneaking feeling that the All Blacks will outgun and outrun them come Saturday.

But, we can keep our fingers crossed.

2nd Attempt On Monday To Get 1 Gigabit Internet To My PC — This Time With TDS (Who Claim That It Is Guaranteed).

From August 2018 when ‘Atlantic Broadband’ failed miserably.

Click to ENLARGE. ‘speedtest.net’ results from a few minutes ago. Yes, I know — server dependent. But, you would expect to see AT LEAST 150Mbps on a supposed 1,000Mbps service.

What can I say. I have been putting this off because I hate disruptions to my Internet services — and yes you read that correct. It is still, until November 6, 2019, services — as in plural, viz. TDS and bloody Atlantic Bloody Broadband. But, then it is going to be just TDS — and hopefully TDS with 1 Gigabit.

I had, for the last 4-years (or more), two Internet services for redundancy. If one went down I, hopefully, was not dead in the water. That has worked out.

But, I just cannot deal with bloody Atlantic Bloody Broadband any longer. They are garbage.

But, I am NOT abandoning redundancy. I am going to get unlimited data on 3 of our phones and I will ‘hotspot’ when needed.

I should have gone with TDS 1 Gigabit a year ago. I didn’t. My mistake. My fault.

It all has to do with wiring. I have a complicated, complex and convoluted network — as would befit someone who worked on high end corporate networks for 30-years.

To get TDS 1 Gigabit to THIS PC TDS will have to move their ‘access point’ 3-floors — from the 1st floor to the 4th. I was trying to avoid that. WHY? Because THIS PC has to be hardwired to the modem/router. No Wi-Fi on this PC. I need hardwired bandwidth.

Well, fingers crossed. Wish me luck. I will keep you posted.

Selfies My Way — 1st Time In A Suit In Nearly 4-Years (October 19, 2019)!

Anura Guruge suit October 2019

This was I just before dashing off to the wedding of my niece-in-law in Maine. Yes, that was our hotel room. What makes this selfie special for I is the suit. I haven’t been in a suit in nearly 4-years. Yes, I wore a blazer or jacket BUT not a full suit — let alone a 3-piece. For 30+ years of my life I lived in a suit at least 5-days a week — and most of them were 3-piece. Wearing a suit was the most natural thing for I. I used to own (smile) quite a few suits. During the time I lived in a suit, I would typically have between 7-10 at a time. I would never wear the same suit two-days running — and ideally not in the same week. I was always rack-size. Didn’t need bespoke suits. I could always get one from a rack — and worst case have the pant legs hemmed. Anywho … I had to buy this suit for the wedding. Got it from JC Penney. It was cheap. But it looks OK. SMILE.
