Saw this at ‘Kimball Jenkins‘ today (in Concord, N.H.).

Using ultrasound to see if the inside of a big, old tree is sound (i.e., not rotting). Pretty cool. Just have to place a number of probes around the circumference of the tree, at various points, measure the circumference so that the software knows how far apart the probes are … press a button (which activates the probes and Bluetooth … and Bob’s your uncle. Image (shown above) comes up on a tablet. Green is GOOD. So, this tree is sound bar some slight damage at one edge.

Pretty cool. I was very impressed.

A YouTube video. You really should watch.

I didn’t put any sound because it was basically QUIET and STILL — just birds.

As I related in an earlier post today, Teischan’s attending a one-week Summer ‘Art Camp’ at ‘Kimball Jenkins‘ in Concord. Rather than coming home after dropping her off (which would take me ~40 minutes), I have opted to spend 6-hours a day in Concord and explore. And it has been amply rewarding. WOW. Well, I have to get my walk in and I might as well, quite literally, walk on pastures new than coming home.

I discovered these railway tracks, basically right behind Kimball Jenkins, on Monday. I walked them then. But, I had not taken by phone or camera and I was GLAD. Allowed me to explore and enjoy without distraction. Today, I went back with my phone. It was too hot to carry my camera and I was going to be carrying another load of stuff anyway.

Tranquil, serene, scenic and totally desolate. Nobody but nobody around other than birds (lots of them) and a solitary turtle. I loved it.

Check out the video.

I felt privileged and blessed.

Teischan’s attending a one-week Summer ‘Art Camp’ at ‘Kimball Jenkins‘ in Concord, and rather than coming home after dropping her off, I have opted to spend 6-hours a day in Concord and explore. It has been a blast. Found all sorts of neat places and met some interesting people (as is my wont).

Today, I stopped at the ‘Concord Mart’ at N. Main St., an ‘International Grocery Store‘, to see what they have. Run by a Nepali gentleman. We got talking. I spotted this v. neat prayer wheel he had by his cash register. It was awfully cute. I wanted one. I like solar powered ‘toys’ and this was one of the nicest I have seen.

I got one. SMILE. It wasn’t $1! SMILE.

IF you want one too, let me know. I think I can get YOU one too.
