There are quite a few posts on ‘The Flume‘ from yesterday as well as last year. So, I won’t say much on this one. I took 300 pictures! It is a place that tempts you to click. I posted quite a few pictures last year too. This year I want to do a chronological, pictorial guide — kind of taking you along, step-by-step, on the 2-mile round trip. When I have time. For now enjoy these,

I gather they blossomed two-days ago, but today was the first time I saw them. The usual place, not very far from us. I typically go by there at least once a day — but often that is at 9:30pm at night when it is pitch black.

The Town (viz. ‘Alton‘) a couple of weeks ago totally cleared the bottom half of that slope of all vegetation. I wondered if they would harm some of the plants. They might have. But, they are above the law as far as I know when it comes to harming Lady Slippers. I guess they have to maintain the roads.

It was raining when I got to the Ladys this morning. The bank, freshly cleared was slippery and I am still nursing my recovering knee. So, I wasn’t too adventurous about scrambling up to snap more pictures. I will go back in a few days.

Enjoy.

It was a holiday (i.e., Memorial Day) and the first decent day in weeks. So, we headed north to ‘The Flume‘ & the ‘Franconia Notch State Park‘. It had been just under a year since we last visited. As always it was a fun, rewarding and relaxing day — in the great outdoors. There wasn’t much flowers out as yet but I did my best to capture some for YOU. Enjoy. I should be able to find more flowers soon. They are blooming.

We Still Have Some Snow In New Hampshire — May 27, 2019.

First decent day in two weeks and we headed to ‘The Flume‘ & the ‘Franconia Notch State Park‘. We had visited in June of last year and it was time to go back. Beautiful and relaxing area of the State. Always fun and so much to do.

Driving on I-93, past Cannon you could see these white blotches high up in the mountains. It was snow. This patch left over in the ski area; no doubt the remnants of a big pile that they must have piled up while grooming the slopes.

I haven’t checked Mount Washington, but they probably have a fair amount of snow up there too.

It was COOL!
