Amazon Offering $25 Gift Card For Doing A 3D-Scan Of Your Body.
$25 for a 3D scan of my body?
I think I am offended. I would have been happier if Amazon didn’t offer ANYTHING other than a cup or tea and a candy (like when you give blood).
As a committed and long-term AMZN investor I should, really, applaud Amazon’s apparent frugality. But, this makes Amazon look cheap and tawdry.
I thought about it. I realized that they wouldn’t have 3D scanning facility all over the place. And I was right on that. Just in New York City. Well I doubt whether I will track all the way down to NYC for this. But, if I were in NYC …
Does appear, alas, that it is very much a one-way deal, in the direction of Amazon.
I don’t think they give you access to your scan. I gather they (like Trump) makes you sign a NDA.
But, here is something that crossed my mind. Wouldn’t it be nice if they told you if they saw something untoward inside you. I guess they don’t. That would complicate matters too much.
Just wanted to share this with you.

Cricket World Cup 2019, In The U.S., Is Available On ‘Willow TV’ On ‘Sling’.
So far, So good.
Actually BRILLIANT.
The first World Cup 2019 Warm-Up game, between South Africa and Sri Lanka, was definitely shown on Willow TV/Sling.
I watched it. Both the 7+ hour ball-by-ball (albeit but for 35 minutes) and the 1-hour highlights. They were BOTH in the polished, professional format that we have come to expect and love from Willow TV.
I checked the schedule. All the other matches are still listed.
Warm up game 2 is also there, I didn’t have time to even click it open. Sorry.
If there was going to be a problem we probably wouldn’t have got this 1st match.
So, I am delighted.
Having to watch the World Cup on the idiotic Hotstar would have been PAINFUL. So, glad I have been spared that misery.

The Picture Of The Day (Canon EOS RP) + 6 Also-Rans — May 24, 2019.
A Decent Pat On The Back For The ‘Canon EOS RP’ Mirrorless Camera I Bought Last Month.
Pretty decent endorsement of the Canon EOS RP. I went from a Sony a7 II to the EOS RP. So, I can see where this guy is coming from and pretty much have no real bones with what he has to say.
I like my Canon EOS RP. No buyer’s remorse. It is an easy camera to use and I just LOVE the Canon lenses. I had missed those.
I definitely would have no qualms about recommending the Canon EOS RP to anyone. It is affordable and well-worth the money and THE LENSES. Yes, the lenses. Get the camera for the new lenses.

Botswana Regrettably Lifts Its 5-Year Moratorium On Elephant Hunting.
This is a crying shame BUT was to be expected.
Landlocked and very sparsely populated Botswana is NOT poor by African standards. It makes good money from mining and tourism and has a growing economy. But, elephant hunting is LUCRATIVE money and will, ironically, boost tourism — i.e., and influx of RICH hunters with money to throw around.
Shame. A crying shame.

Are YOU Following With What Is Happening To The U.S. ‘Electoral College’?
Given that there is only so much news I can follow and process in a day, I had not paid much notice to snippets that I had seen about the Electoral College over the last few months. I was also under the belief that the chances of the Electoral College system being changed was pretty remote — especially under Trump.
But, the story from Nevada galvanised my interest and I took the time to read it. WOW. Steady on.
Yes, it is a long way from becoming a reality and it is bound to face enough legal challenges to stop it from being applicable in 2020. But, this sure is a start.
This is an initiative, much to my surprise (and delight) pre-dates the 2016 Trump election. Here is the list, prior to Nevada.
