2018 Christmas Revels (Cambridge, MA), ‘Nordic Celebration’ — The ‘Thank You’ Video From The Gang.

This year end ‘Thank You’ video (at Vimeo) is now becoming another Revels (Cambridge) tradition. A nice touch. A fond year-end reminder, when the days are truly dark and damp, for those of us who were fortunate enough to attend a performance, as to the ever uplifting gaiety of a Revels. For those, alas, who could not attend, it gives you a quick glimpse of what Revels was all about.

We attended the December 20 show. The fourth or fifth Revels we have attended at Cambridge. Overall, I have been to about 20 between Revels North & Cambridge.

2018 Revels, by definition, was good. It wasn’t the best nor was it brilliant. But, it was still good and that is what counts.

Enjoy this ‘Thank You’ video. It captures what it is all about.

Happy New Year 2019.

We, as you must have realized, are huge fans of ‘The Castle In The Clouds‘ and ‘attached’ ‘Carriage House Restaurant‘. We try to eat there as often as we can, but are also often thwarted in that they are so, so busy.

This is the first I had heard about these Winter 2019 Sunday buffet brunches. I am a brunch addict. This looks GREAT. I am going to try and go as soon as I can.

Just wanted to share it with you.

Happy New Year.

Exactly a fortnight ago I raved about their 2018 Christmas cakes. Now it is their quite impressive New Year cakes.

I have said it before, I will say it again: “I wish these cakes, at these prices, were available in the U.S.“. Alas, not so. They are only available for delivery within Sri Lanka.

Well, I rave about these Kapruka cakes at least once year, either at Christmas, Sinhalese New Year or Easter. Do a search on ‘Kapruka‘ on this blog if you don’t believe me.

Over the years, when more of my relatives were alive, I used to be a real good Kapruka customer. Would order multiple cakes per year. I don’t avail myself to their services that much anymore — though I did send a cake in September.

The cakes have quite noticeably fancier and, alas, more expensive over the years! The latter was inevitable. Still, cheap compared to U.S. prices since delivery is included.

Just wanted to share these with you to inspire you.

For all the publicity that I give them, Kapruka, in typical Sri Lankan fashion, has never said thank you. C’est la vie.
