I am an avowed news junkie. That is how I serendipitously stumbled upon this story this morning. I could NOT believe it.

Donald Trump made it a Federal Holiday last Tuesday, December 18, 2018 — way ahead of the current, ongoing Government Shutdown.

Yes, this bonus, added holiday helps, but it was never in the calculus. Total fortuitous, coincidence.

I asked around. Not many people have heard of it.

The Postal Service Website does NOT mention it. So, it appears, I think, that we might still get mail though it is a Federal Holiday.

Just a heads up.

Check around.

This is NOT a joke. Repeat, NOT a joke.

Oh, there is precedent for this. Appears that if Christmas falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, Federal workers typically get an extra holiday tagged on. Again, check it out.

In today’s BGR (at: bgr.com). Great publicity. And the Bip is 2-years old.

I started taking notice of them 2-weeks ago.

I am hearing and seeing good things about them.

I am trying to get my hands on the new — delayed — Verge. I have a feeling that I am going to be impressed.

Just wanted to give YOU a heads up.

The name to watch in 2019.

It, with the right marketing, could give Fitbit and Garmin a run for their money.

Third Of The Three 2018 Christmas Trees — In All Its Glory.

by Anura Guruge

Second Christmas Tree — actually the MAIN one.

First Christmas Tree — the only artificial one.

2nd & 3rd side-by-side, so to speak.

The 3rd Christmas tree, on the ground floor of this 4-story house, was the last to be decorated. But, that was last week. I just never got around to taking any decent pictures until today. Hence, the delay in posting.

Three trees as in the last couple of years — 2 real and 1 fake.

Enjoy.

Merry Christmas.

Per My Garmin Fenix 5 Plus I Climb More Floors Than 99% Of ‘Other Users’ — 52 Floors A Day.

102 ‘floors’ climbed on some days.

I live in a 4-story house, which is on the side of 1,450′ mountain. So, it is NOT difficult for I to cover a fair chunk of elevation per day. Plus, I have ALWAYS liked to climb stairs. Whenever possible I will opt to climb stairs than take an escalator or elevator — and it doesn’t matter if I am carrying stuff.

That I am in the 99% percentile, for my age, viz., 65-69, makes me happy. And I get accused that all I do is sit in front of a PC! Well, it can’t be bad … right? If all I do is sit in front of a computer and also manage to average 52 floors climbed a day.

In our house my ‘office’, where I spent much of the day, is on the 4th floor. The family TV room, plus the utility room which has my exercise clothes, are on the bottom floor. So I, go up and down 3 flights of stairs multiple times a day. So, even on the days I do not go running I end up covering well in excess of 10 floors a day.

1,467 floors climbed in a month. Basically, 14,670′. Kind of halfway up Mount Everest.

Yes, I know that there are others that do more than this — but also those that do less.

Enjoy. Happy Holidays. If you are around, I will always be happy to climb stairs with you or hike up a mountain.
