I happened, serendipitously, catch a trailer, on PBS, and knew, at once, that I had to watch this. Everything I like — all-things-British, period drama, innovation, aviation — in one movie. I have set the DVR to record.

Up here in the Northeast it is on Boston WGBH Channel 44 — their auxiliary channel to the main Channel 2. You will have to check the PBS listing in your area. It is at 8pm on Thanksgiving — Thursday, November 22, 2018.

Given that it is BBC produced it is bound to be superlative. The BBC, as YOU know, rarely lets the side down.

Yes, my beloved ‘Acadia National Park‘ is related to the Acadians but semi-indirectly. The actual ‘Acadia‘, as can be seen from the above map, was further north, in Canada. But, the notion of calling that whole NE area ‘Acadia’ persisted.

Canada has a ‘National Acadian Day’. The Day After Thanksgiving holiday is restricted to Louisiana.

2018 Christmas Lights Go Up 2-Days Earlier Than Last Year.

Teischan (12), unashamedly, lives for Christmas — and she was hell bent on putting up the Christmas lights today, having put up her personal Christmas tree yesterday.

As it transpired I had to make a trip with her to Walmart in Rochester to replenish our stock of lights. While we were at it we got a second laser light and a lighted flying pig.

So, this year November 18 vs. last year’s November 20. But, what a difference. Last year it was balmy and she was in shorts. This year we had 6″ snow on the ground and it was FREEZING. Given the temperature and the unscheduled trip to Walmart we didn’t get all the lights up today. I am sure they will all be done by tomorrow.
