So, this morning I went looking for it. Got it from the Nikon Website. But, you can download a copy directly from here. That way you can buy yourself a few seconds and dive straight in.
I need to study it further — but I will have plenty of time. I do NOT plan to get my Nikon Z6 till after Christmas. I want all the holiday craziness to be over and for Nikon to have got rid of its first batch. I can wait. The Sony a7 II is still doing good.
I will keep you posted.
Over three decades PBS ‘Masterpiece Theatre‘ has rarely, if ever, disappointed I. So, when I happened to see the trailer for ‘The Miniaturist’ I took note. I recorded it on Sunday and watched it today.
It is definitely worthy of being labeled ‘Masterpiece’. It was gripping from the start.
Yes, given that it is set in Amsterdam, in the same timeframe, it will remind you of ‘Girl With A Pearl Earring‘ (the 2003 movie). This is better. So, just before writing this I did some research and found what I shared with you before. Not a true story, out-and-out. But, the people and the actual dollhouse are real. Then there is divergence. But, it is OK.
Helps if you know a tad about Calvinism and its hold on The Netherlands in the 17th century. But, not appreciating the subtleties will not detract.
I enjoyed it, immensely. Highly recommend it. It is PBS, so you should be able to catch the episode, on air during this week, on the Web.
‘Botham Shem Jean’, Accidently Shot By Female Dallas Police Officer Must Have Been Named After Sir Ian Botham.
I had NOT initially paid much attention to his name because it wasn’t as if I was going to know him.
Then while reading a news story it suddenly struck me. ‘Botham‘ as a First (i.e., given) name. I had never seen that before.
Of course we cricketers all know Botham — Ian, BUT ‘Botham’ as a last name.
But, it all makes sense. He is from St. Lucia and cricket is very popular in St. Lucia. Possibly even the unofficial National Sport.
Botham Shem Jean, 29, was born in 1989. That was at the height of Ian Botham’s cricket exploits around the world.
I am sure that one or both his parents are cricket mad (like I) and named their son after ‘Ian Botham’. I would know. My son’s middle name, Gordon, is after West Indian cricket legend, Gordon Greenidge.

Wow. WOw. WOW!
I have never seen anything like that from a professional, famous sports figure! That was totally uncalled for. She looked demented, even demonic. What was she thinking?
Why was she allowed to get away with it? Her $17,000 fine, given the $1.54 MILLION she got paid for playing in the U.S. Open, was a pathetic JOKE. She should have been FINED $3 Million.
I watch at least an hour of professional cricket, from around the world, every day. Cricket prides itself on the decorum of play. Players seldom take exception, on the field, to a decision made by an official. When they do, they are HARSHLY punished and penalized. They can lose ALL their match fees — and more. They can be banned for months.
Unlike cricket, which is very much a team sport, tennis (even with doubles) is an individual sport — and I guess tennis doesn’t want to lose the money-making power of star players. But her behavior brought the game and HUMANKIND into disrepute. What kind of example is this to our kids. They should NOT be taught that screaming at an official is acceptable behavior.
I really was shocked and even more so that she was allowed to get away with it.

I made a quick video with music — just 19 seconds.
They had done a full Tai Chi show in the City Hall plaza from what I gather. I just happened to catch this sword display as I was meandering through to see what caught my eye. It was definitely colorful and I knew that the dramatic poses would make good photos. So, quickly shot a sequence of 19 — which is where the above video came from. It was cool.
