Maya’s 7th Birthday, Celebrated At McDonald’s Per The Tradition — May 15, 2018.

Since we move to Alton 11-years ago taking the dogs to the McDonald’s at ‘the circle’ for cheeseburgers on their birthday has become firm family tradition.

Teischan, a great lover of birthdays (albeit, her’s her all time favorite), does a great job of keeping track of the dogs’ birthdays. I have been told, near daily, for the last 3-weeks, that it was going to be Maya’s 7th birthday and that we are going to McDonald’s.

The dogs know McDonald’s. They go there outside of their birthdays too. Suffice to say I have pictures of such birthdays going back years. A trademark of all these pictures are the dogs LICKING their chops in anticipation! It is classic. They know.

Maya’s 7th. Braxton is going to be 5, I think, later in the Summer. Given that he is a rescue we are not sure of his exact birthday. So, like the Queen, we have designated an official birthday for him. Teischan will start telling me about it soon.

Enjoy. They did.

P.S., When we lived in Gilford, prior to Alton, and just had our Ulysses, it used to be an ice-cream cake for him from Hannaford’s!

“God’s Final Word” Was At The Alton (NH) Dump On Monday.

It is a local ‘outfit’ belonging to a ‘licensed home inspector‘ per the small print under the main message. It is very clever advertising!

I don’t know … something incongruous about seeing ‘this’ at the ‘dump‘ (i.e., our recycling center) towing a rather makeshift trailer. You somehow expect it to be in more salubrious settings.

I was clambering up a bank taking pictures. So, I could get this shot from a higher vantage — which seemed appropo.

What can I say. We picked up this real cool, and incredibly light walking stick at our amazing ‘Swap Shop‘ at the Town ‘dump’ (a.k.a. recycling center).

When I was walking towards the house, once we got back, I noticed my shadow. I had the stick in my hand. Played around with it. This was the 3rd shot. The other two were OK, but I liked the exposure on this the best.

I Sold My Samsung S3 Frontier On Facebook For $180 Within 12-Hours.

Christmas 2017, a few days after I got it. This was a joke. I never wore two watches … ever!

First time ever I sold anything on Facebook. I wanted to see what it was like. Was not too, too bad. Have the advantage that you can check the respondents profile on Facebook.

Yes, as with Craigslist it started with 4 – 5 ‘crazies’. I could tell that they were ‘scammers’ because they had patently bogus names. I blew them off.

Then I got a message from ‘Steve’ who started off by asking whether I would accept PayPal. That got my antenna up. I will confess I gave him quite a grilling. Then he told me he was a Realtor from Rhode Island. I found him on the Web and called him. He didn’t know I was going to call. He answered. Turned out to be a nice guy. Yes, I am shipping it to him and he graciously paid for the shipping.

I am happy.

I got the Frontier S3 to be my dress watch and act as a backup if my main tracker failed — as had done my first Garmin Vivoactive 3. But, I had not worn it much. Wore it mainly between my second Vivoactive 3 and the Fitbit Ionic and while waiting for my Garmin Fenix 5. In total I must have worn it for less than 5-days.

10-days prior to Christmas 2017, Best Buy DROPPED the price of the S3 by $40. It was, as such, cheaper then than it is now. So, I am quite cool with the price. Of course I have to eat some depreciation, but I am ‘OK’ with that. I wasn’t going to be greedy and try to compete with the 20 or so folks trying to sell S3s for $200 — and have been doing so for weeks. I got full price. {Smile}

Once I got the Fenix 5 I knew that my chances of ever wearing the S3 was close to nil. They are very similar watches, both in size and appearance. Side-by-side they look identical. So, I knew that I should get rid of the S3 and use the money to get a used Garmin. That is what I am going to do.
