Through With ‘Alton Central School’ (ACS) Grade 6 — Resorting, With Regret, To Homeschooling.

We have had a continuous albeit checkered, 12-year relationship with ‘Alton Central School‘ (ACS) since we moved to Alton, New Hampshire in April 2007.

ACS has some very good teachers, and I have sung some of their praises over the years. Some of those teachers, one in particular, wrought magic in the now 12-year old Teischan. [Devanee started at ACS ahead of Teischan, hence the 12-year relationship, though Teischan has only been attending ACS for 9.]

Homeschooling is NOT something that I am particularly fond of doing. We did it for a year for Devanee, when she was being bullied at ACS, and I was hoping I would not have to do it again.

Alas, not so.

Today, after much soul-searching and regret, we pulled Teischan out of ACS and will be homeschooling her for the rest of the school year.

5th Grade was bad — and as some of you may know a teacher ‘left’ mid-stream.

6th Grade has been even worse. I have had so many meetings with the Superintendent, Principal, all the teachers ….

In the end there was but just one viable course open to us. Homeschool her for now and HOPE that 7th Grade will be better.

Well, that is the headline for now. I will post more, if I get the time, as we go along.
