This is so cool. Just the kind of thing we have now come to expect from the mega-brilliant Bezos.
This, though it will cost him $42 million, is NOT even petty cash to him these days — Amazon stock is doing so well. The total cost to build this giant clock is more, but Jeff, with his $42M is the largest benefactor.
Appears that they have been talking about such a clock since 1984. A prototype for this clock, built in 1999, is now on display at the Science Museum in London.

This (bank) account-related, ‘real-life’, question was part of my 11-year old daughter’s math homework.
On face value, as long as you don’t dwell on it, it seems kosher and, of course, most of you will come up with what you will INSIST is the correct answer: -$37. And you can see that ‘we’ have that too.
BUT, that answer is contingent on a NUMBER of arbitrary assumptions.
I will contend that -$79.50, +$88, ‘depends on what the opening balance was’ … at a minimum, are also perfectly valid, and defensible, answers.
What do YOU think?
Can you see ALL of the faux pas? There are quite a few.
As with such things, I am never sure whether I should laugh or cry.
I did discuss it, over e-mail, with one of the school’s administrators. He did NOT see anything wrong with it and said the answer was, indeed, -$37. I had to laugh. No wonder he earns such big bucks.

This update happened, over Wi-Fi, when I did a forced Sync around 12:05am on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.
I am not sure whether I was lucky or not. The above says that they just started the rollout to just 10% of the Ionic users. So, I was in that 10%.
Have not, as yet, noticed anything different or untoward. But, early minutes … let alone days.
That the Firmware is at 18.104.22.168 is disquieting! That is a LOT of updates.
But, let’s keep fingers crossed. I need the Ionic to work till around May 2018 — when I plan to upgrade to a Garmin Forerunner 645.
