Why Did Amazon Send Me 3 Bottles Of “Brain Octane Oil”, 16 Oz, Unasked & For Free!

by Anura Guruge

This has me concerned.

I know and appreciate that Amazon knows EVERYTHING about me including that I rarely wear underwear.

They also know that I have been a dynamite, extremely reliable and loyal customer for nearly 20-years.

So, when they send me $70 of “Brain Octane Oil“, for FREE, unasked (never mind unsolicited), it gets me WORRIED.

What have they detected in my keystrokes? That I am not as decisive as I once was? That it takes me longer to place an order.

YIKES! I haven’t, as far as I know, screwed up TOO MUCH of late, i.e., returned stuff.

But, obviously they know something.

They also sent a small bottle of some blood pressure medication. This is bad.

I am worried.

What do YOU think I should do.

NO. NO. N000000000! I have not tried it yet, though somebody else did.

Having spent 64 years making sure not to mess my brain I am not sure I am going to try anything now — especially as my brain is entitled to its slow decline. I never did drugs because I did not want anything interfering with my brain. So, why would I try this?

The Definition & Picture Of “Warm-Blooded”.

Something about being a ‘Guruge’ in New Hampshire. We somehow are more immune to the cold than most and I have no explanation, whatsoever, given that I grew up in a clime where the temperature, even at night, never fell below 70°F.

Teischan is the best or worst of the lot. 40°F (4.4°C), ton of snow and in the middle of a frozen lake. To her it is HOT. Left her jacket in the van. Didn’t wear one all day. Luckily people don’t look at us as bad parents because it is patently clear that she is NOT cold. Yes,  40°F, ten years ago was sweatshirt weather for I too, but now in my dotage I do not take any chances. But, it is good to see her out there oblivious to the elements.

Sri Lanka 70th Independence Day Parade, Colombo, February 4, 2018 — YouTube Video.

by Anura Guruge

I happened to see these images and they looked pretty impressive.
So, I went looking for a YouTube video.

They seem to have gone all out. Looks grand, and Galle Face, which I remember well, looks a treat.

National Anthem is done very well too.

Well, big anniversary, 70 years.

The only thing that made me sad & mad was the parade of stupid German cars. But, what can I say. My brethren are not that enlightened. Very enamored by all things shiny irrespective significance or background.

Forget Rob Porter’s Security Clearance, Takis Veliotis Who Was In Charge Of Building U.S. Nuclear Submarines Was Not Even A U.S. Citizen!

by Anura Guruge

P. Takis Veliotis, EVP, General Dynamics & General Manager, Electric Boat Division.

I kid you not.

P. Takis Veliotis was appointed General Manager of General Dynamics’Electric Boat Division” on October 24, 1977.

Electric Boat Division, which had built USS Nautilus, World’s 1st Nuclear Submarine, had an ongoing contract with the U.S. Navy to build a slew of nuclear submarines.

At the time Veliotis took over as GM he, originally from Greece, had Canadian citizenship.

He was also taking huge kickbacks and bribes from contractors in his prior jobs.

There was NO WAY he could have passed a proper FBI background check, let alone get the necessary clearance!

But, nonetheless, he headed up “Electric Boat” for quite a FEW YEARS prior to becoming naturalized.

He spoke with the legendary Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, “Father Of the U.S. Nuclear Navy”, multiple times a day. Rickover, famed for his attention to detail, never spotted this.

Check this out. It is pretty amazing.

I discovered this while reading the book “Running Critical” early last year. We had visited the OUTSTANDING “Submarine Force Library & Museum” in Groton, Connecticut — a few miles from Mystic during our stay at ‘Mohegan Sun’ for New Year 2017. I had become intrigued about finding out more about the history of submarines. The author of this book, a veteran journalist, just mentions the citizenship in PASSING! To this day I do not understand why he did not talk about it. This has to have been one of the biggest security lapses in U.S. history and there must have been a few. {Smile}

So, Rob Porter is by no means an isolated incident.
