I was synching my Vivoactive 3, via Bluetooth, with my Android tablet, when I noticed that it was taking unusually long. So, checked. Saw it was doing a software update. Surprised me since 2.8 was so fresh.
Just to be on the safeside came upstairs, USB connected it to my PC, and ran Garmin Express. Sure enough. Firmware version 2.90 — to fix a touchscreen issue. Must have been serious. I had not noticed. Maybe I thought it was a bit sluggish BUT I had had any issues with the touchscreen and I had been running 2.80 for a week.
So, heads up.
Best to update to 2.90.
I suspect we will have 3.0 before the Chinese New Year, which is in February.
I still have not started using the Samsung S3 Frontier I got for Christmas on a regular basis to make this an issue, BUT soon I am going to want to combine the data from both my Garmin Vivoactive 3 and the Samsung S3, in one place, so I have an accurate picture of what I did during an entire day. If not, the days I wear the S3 for part of the time will be out-of-place. Garmin Connect and Samsung Health will both claim I did not meet my goals.
I found this APP. I have NOT signed up yet (though it is FREE) because the first review I read said it will not work, AS ADVERTISED, with Garmin Connect and Samsung Health!
So, I need to check it out more.
