A Nikon Fullframe Mirrorless Will Sorely Test My Loyalty To Sony, Especially If There Is No Sony a7 III.

These two rumors that appeared on the same day, i.e., yesterday, severely tested me. I love my fullframe Sony a7 II BUT am hamstrung by the lack of ‘decent’ zoom lenses. That the likes of Tamron and Sigma does not have Sony E-mount FE lenses is very galling.

I have come to the painful realization that there is no point having a good camera, i.e., the Sony a7 II, if I don’t have DECENT lenses.

So, I will go with Nikon purely for better lens selection. That said Nikon will probably make a decent mirrorless camera — if not an outright good one. I do own a mirrorless Nikon and enjoy it very much — i.e., my Nikon P900. So, I can claim that I am not a Nikon mirrorless virgin either.

My only fear is that Nikon will make it a high(er) resolution camera. I really do not want a 50MP+ camera. But, I might have to reconsider that because I am really quite fed up with the Sony lens situation. And NO, I do not want to go the adapted lens route. Not my thing.

That the latest rumor is that Sony will again disappointed with the Sony a7 III just makes me even more convinced that Sony and I might have to part company in 2018.
