U.S. Copyright Act Was Signed Into Law, This Day 227-Years Ago; May 31, 1790 — By George Washington, No Less.
227-years ago. Good to know that they were concerned about it that long ago — though, to be fair, the U.S., at this juncture, was trying to catch up with Britain’s Copyright Act, a.k.a. ‘Statute of Anne’, passed 80-years earlier.
I am, as a writer and photographer, a great believer in copyright. So far I have contested and won three copyright cases involving my books. Didn’t make any money but justice was done.
