Barring a major blizzard we, without fail, go to Boston Chinatown, on a Sunday during the Chinese New Year for Dim Sum at the ‘China Pearl‘. During the last 4 – 5 years we have been going on the 2nd Sunday because that is when they usually have the dragon parades and fireworks.

Hence, today’s trip. Second Sunday. But, no parades, no fireworks. Supposedly NEXT Sunday. February 12. Never mind. We have seen the parades enough.

China Pearl was packed. Had to wait in line for 15 minutes. That hasn’t happened in years — and we go 3 -4 times a year, rather than just for New Year.

Just wanted to share these pictures with you. Enjoy. Happy New Year.

Easter 2017 On Sunday, April 16 Is Later Than The Last 2 Years.

Easter, of course, is your original ‘moveable feast‘. It can fall between March 22 and April 25.

This year, i.e., 2017, it is towards the later end, April 16. Last year it was considerably earlier. But, in 2014 it was on April 20 — even later. 2011 was towards the very limit at April 24.

Since 1777 Easter has fallen on April 16 eleven (11) times prior to this, viz.: 1786, 1797, 1843, 1854, 1865, 1876, 1911, 1922, 1933, 1995, 2006. S0, the last time was 11 years ago. The 11-year cycle is quite common and you will see it 8 times in that sequence. Then, in between, you have some huge gaps of 46, 35 and 62 years. This is not unusual either.

Next Easter on April 16 will again be in 11 years, i.e., 2028.
