I addressed this Dalai Lama reincarnation issue over a year ago. Whether he is talking obliquely about him reaching NIRVANA or whether he is just playing politics (as he is WONT to do) the Dalai Lama really has no say as to whether reincarnation, per Buddhism, happens or does NOT happen. His statement about it possibly being ‘voluntary’ is sheer, utter bunkum! I have talked about reincarnation in this blog — before. It is a subject I do know quite a lot about and have devoted a lot of mental energy thinking about.

Let’s PLEASE get one thing straight about this Dalai Lama. He is NOT the Buddhist equivalent of the Pope. He is not even the equivalent of the Archbishop of Canterbury. He is, at best, equivalent to the Patriarch of Alexandria. There are about 490 Million Buddhists worldwide (and I am not one of them). The Dalai Lama ONLY represents the at most 20 Million ‘Tibetan’ Buddhists and at least 40% of these are WESTERN cafeteria Buddhist who believe Buddhism is all about meditation, yoga and avoiding beef. So, the Dalai Lama has no authority (unlike say the Pope) to talk about Buddhist dogma or doctrine. This Dalai Lama is really nothing but a Western celebrity — the Ben Carson of Buddhism.

Though not a Buddhist now, I find it wrong when the Dalai Lama tries to, using his media creds, to mess with very fundamental Buddhist precepts. To me it is like Donald trump saying that there was no Virgin Birth (and that he would know). China is right. The Dalai Lama should stop talking about reincarnation and just do what he is best at doing — making money for himself.

I came across these over the weekend, on Facebook, when somebody commented on my picture of Maya (on the March 27, 2016, “6 Images for the Day“). Was I impressed? I actually wanted to wear around MY neck. That would be quite the fashion accessory for I. They do come in MY neck size (15″ – 16″). So this could be my new look. As I said on Facebook, Maya and Braxton are cute enough even with cheap collars. I am the one that needs all the help — though at my age it is a lost cause and I have shed whatever shreds of vanity I ever had.

But, back to dogs. These are special. Of course given the craftsmanship involved they are not inexpensive. But they definitely seems worth it. I know that a lot of you will not think twice about getting one or more of these collars. Go for it. Enjoy.

2016 “Battle of the Raj” India v England Final In ICC World Twenty20, #ICCWT20?

India v England ICC Twenty20 World Cup Final 2016 Anura Guruge

As draws for the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 goes ‘India v England‘ probably is as good as it gets now that Pakistan (or for that matter Sri Lanka) did not qualify for the Semi-Finals.

‘India v West Indies‘ would have been popular BUT that will now be the Thursday, March 31, 2016 Semi-Final (i.e., semi #2). Unless Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels or Darren Sammy (among others) produces an absolute stunner, a 180+ strike rate 70+, India, playing at home, could/should pull off a win. They did well against Australia.

New Zealand have been unbeaten BUT upsets are easy in T20.

India v. England will elicit lots of pent up emotions. That would be a cracking final. I think India will win — though my record of predicting T20s is not great since luck rather than form plays such a HUGE role (and there are REVIEWS to overturn really bad umpiring decisions).

Can’t wait. Has been a good tournament.
