We go to this circus, i.e., Ringling Brothers etc. etc., in Manchester, in October, every year, without fail — having started doing so in 2007 when Teischan was 1. We took her to the “Big Apple Circus” when she was a few months old, in 2006, but she didn’t appreciate it much.
During the last few years we invariably have our picture taken — since for whatever reason we only get our picture taken, as a family, when we go to events like this. So this is the 2015 ‘circus’ picture.
Mainly ‘green screen’ magic. Just the two plastic tigers we are ‘posing’ around were ‘real’ — if one can really call a plastic tiger ‘real’. The other tigers were pasted on, digitally, to the picture. The irony is that the ONE ACT that we all, in rare unison, hate is the ‘Big Cat’ tiger hat. Yes, we should have refrained from having this picture taken.
The circus was ‘OK’ — but that kind of goes without saying. Kind of like a definition. It was, however, the MOST low-key, low-tech, spectacle-challenged Ringling & Barnum circus we have been to. Deanna found that refreshing. It was, in her thinking, more ‘approachable’. All the kids, and I am not just talking about our two, loved it and that, in the end, is all that matters. Plus, I can’t complain, not that I really would. We got complimentary seats and they were good ones at that. I will write more about the circus tomorrow. OK?
