This was our 2nd ‘Thank You’ cruise of the Summer. This one was closer to home and on a body of water that we know quite well — though we don’t get on it as much as we used to do when we lived waterfront. It was a FUN cruise. We knew most of the folks. We had worked with them, with delight, over the last couple of months. There was either 31 or 35 of us on board; it is possible that we might have lost a few. A good time was had by all, even those of us that got soaked.
Beautiful afternoon. The sun came out. The Lake wasn’t too badly behaved. I have seen and weathered much, much worse. The few white caps there were, were half-hearted. Plus the skipper tried to do a good job keeping us sheltered behind all the islands.
Teischan commandeered my camera half-way through. I didn’t mind. I had just put a Velcro wrist-strap on it. She figured how to use it. She thought it was cool and it was rather cool to see this 8-year old parading around with a Nikon, albeit an ol’ Nikon that I bought for her birth, strapped around her wrist. She took over 450 pictures. So we have close to 700 images! I will post some of these as time permits.
An ‘After Cruise Party’ was held at our beach on Halfmoon Lake, Alton. About 10 people came. There was pizza, made by Deanna, and, of course, drinks. That was fun. That wrapped up around 7:30. So we had over 5 hours of fun. Thanks ‘Great Waters’ that was great fun on the Water.
