Another week another concert setup — most likely our last for this Summer.
As ever it was fun. All three of us went as we had done last week, but there were no chairs for Teischan to lug. So she watched, which was good.
In the scheme of this a rather easy and fun setup. ‘They’, the two crew-chiefs, are extremely laid-back and nice. Fun working with them.
Very, very different to the Gordon Lightfoot setup. 1/5th to 1/10th the equipment. Gord came with a 53′ 18 wheeler filled to the gills. These folks came in a rather small delivery van. We couldn’t believe it to begin with. We thought it was just the ‘cavalry’ and that the big truck was coming.
It was good to see the instruments up close. They are meant to be ‘as authentic’, as possible and realistic, to what the Beatles would have had in 1964. But as one of the crew-chiefs pointed out the Beatles didn’t have the digital amplifiers of today! In 1964 they probably still had a few amps with glowing valves.
Well, more later with luck.
I have to be there later on tonight to reload the stuff.
