‘We’, well actually ‘I’, signed up to help with the setup — but the kids invariably tag along or I make them tag along. It is good for them. This was hard work. Setting up the stage per se was a piece of cake compared to Gordon Lightfoot or the “Evening of Broadway”. It was the chairs! We needed 240 chairs. Only about 40 were on the floor. 100 were in the loft above and the other 100 were in the basement below. The three of us were involved in lugging at least 150 of these down stairs or up stairs. Did 80% of it by forming a chain. It was fun BUT you could feel the ‘work’. Very proud of the two girls. All the adults commented on their hard work. That is good. They enjoyed it. Sense of accomplishment. Yes, it cost me at McDonald’s.
I don’t think I will make it too see Lori. Lori vs. Huggins Fair. No contest! Sorry Lori. Well, if it was Gordon Lightfoot it might have been different. We do have to go pick up Devanee who is doing Box Office. So IF we get there early enough we might catch a bit of the concert.
[[ We didn’t! Appears that I did meet and talk to Lori without realizing that it was Lori! She came in as we were finishing the setup. She cracked a joke about the use of child labor. I did not realize it was her. Shame. Seems very nice. Devanee was there for the whole concert. Appears that it started at 7:30 and finished around 9:15. There was no break. ]]
We got this as part of a larger e-mail this morning.
The 160 chairs from the basement doesn’t include the 40 or so chairs we moved down from the loft.
