Ominous Supposed Twitter By Walmart Truck Driver In Tracy Morgan Accident That Is Being Reported In The U.K.
by Anura Guruge
If you read this blog even spasmodically you might be aware that I routinely rave about the brilliance of the U.K. Daily Mail’s news coverage. I guess I must write, at least once a week, that the “Daily Mail” is my all time favorite newspaper in the whole world. It was the paper that I used to get delivered, to the house, daily, early in the morning, during nearly all of my ‘adult’ life living in the U.K.
Given that I find that the Daily Mail has better coverage of U.S. news than I get from CNN (and that is really about the only news channel I watch, not counting CNBC and MSNBC), I have started reading the Daily Mail, in bed, in the mornings, with my coffee, while CNN or CNBC on the TV. That way I feel that I get the best of all worlds.
Today, in the Mail I saw this coverage about this supposed Twitter by ‘Kevin Roper’ the Walmart 18-wheeler truck driver involved in the tragic Tracy Morgan accident in New Jersey.
Intrigues me that CNN does not mention this.
But then again CNN has said very little about yesterday’s terrorist attack on Karachi Airport in Pakistan. I would have thought that CNN could have made a real, 2 month long meal ‘banquet’ of that as it did with Malaysian Air MH370. Suffice to say CNN is rather strange.
I am glad that I have my Daily Mail to keep me posted with the ever intriguing news insights that give you a whole new perspective on breaking news stories. CNN might want to just scrape and plagiarize the Daily Mail stories.
Old Millhillian John Cranwell, Heavily Involved With Welsh (Field) Hockey, Died May 29, 2014, Aged 78.

John Cranwell (Mill Hill — Winterstoke 1948-53)
Millhillians will be sorry to learn of the death of John Cranwell on 29th May 2014, aged 78. John was a loyal member of the Old Millhillians Club as well as being a Life Guardian. He was a Life Member of Welsh Hockey Union, having also been a Past President of the same organisation. He was heavily involved with the international scene having been the Welsh Hockey Association fixture secretary for International fixtures for many years as well as the Chair of the International selection committee.
Old Millhillians are welcome to attend the funeral on 18th June at 1pm at St Oswald King and Martyr, Church Street, Oswestry, Shropshire, SY11 2SY
Messages of condolence may be sent to John’s son Robin at: 6 Avondale, Churkbank, Wrexham, LL14 5DF.
I did not know John. He predated me by a number of years — I only making it to Mill Hill (London, UK) for my ‘brief’ stay, prior to getting expelled in May 1971, in September 1969.
Don’t know why but when I got this e-mail something stirred. Maybe it was all the mentions re. Welsh Hockey. Hockey was never my thing but Wales is ‘home’.
Occurred to me that this blog probably reaches more people than other avenues for publicizing Old Millhillian obituaries. So I decided that I will try and do this in future.
News Of Fatal Truck Crash In Alton (N.H.) Sunday Night, June 8, 2014, Reminded Me Of Local Newspaper Editor Who Was Bragging, In Print, About Driving At 90 mph.

[[ 7:30 pm UPDATE: I checked WMUR 6 pm news and just now their Website. No new news as yet. ]]
I have heard, unofficially, that DWI was involved. Appears that driver that died,
the one who was on the wrong side of the road, overtaking multiple cars,
was drunk. Appears he hit two teenagers. The two teenagers are at Dartmouth Hitchcock
Medical Center in Hanover. They were taken by helicopter.
This is local, Alton hearsay.

This is from the November 29, 2012 issue of ‘The Baysider’.
Yes, all accidents in N.H. are ‘close to home‘ and ones in Alton, especially when they are serious, are even more so.
We were on Route 11, in Alton, yesterday. I think I know the exact stretch of road that was probably the scene. Yes, I understand how people get frustrated on this road. But this …
Then, whenever, I read about a local accident, Josh Spaulding’s inexcusable brag comes to mind — my mind wired to make such connections.
Still amazes me that NOT a single educator or local official from ANY of the Towns that Spaulding covers had the decency to chastise Spaulding.
Frank Chilinski, the President & Publisher of ‘The Baysider’, if he had an iota of common human decency, social responsibility or civic conscious WOULD have fired him — on the spot. But he obviously is only in this for the filthy lucre — screw the community. Let them eat cake.
Yes, somebody more ‘adult’ would have AT LEAST have apologized in public even if they didn’t have the gumption to resign.
But, ‘OH NO’, none of this happened.
Local HOT SHOTS like Spaulding can speed with impunity — criminal speeding that.
But I am reminded of this column, with an accompanying shudder, every time I hear of a serious accident in my neighbourhood.
SOME Lucky New Hampshirites Will Have A Choice Beyond Just Anthem Insurance In 2015 With Obamacare, i.e. Affordable Care Act (ACA)

This is a good start, and needs to be soundly applauded,
BUT it doesn’t help me.
I understand the initial reasoning — just the counties that border Maine.
Yes, of course, a Maine health plan will not be much cop for those in Cheshire or Sullivan.
But what about US in Belknap. I can get to Maine pretty easily and quickly and do so often.
That they are talking about extending the plan is good and promising.
P.S., Healthcare.gov (Obamacare) website is STILL having issues. It continues to HARASS me though I am all processed. Learned something interesting last week from their CALL CENTER. In December they secretly WAIVED verification of ALL documentation in the rush to get us signed up! I wonder if the Republicans in Congress know of that. If not one of you should tell them.
