As I said in my original post I have no skin in this game other than the fact that I have known both Ray Burton and Christopher Boothby, albeit in the case of the later, not of late. Given that I have always liked Ray and thought he was one of those rare, extraordinary people that grace the world, occasionally, I just wanted to point out that in my opinion Boothby in terms of personality was nowhere even close to Ray.
I know that the elector turnout was incredibly low; the weather no doubt a factor. It is possible that Boothby may have done better if more folks made it to the polls. But, he could have actually worked on that — and here I am talking as somebody who ferried folks to/fro to polling stations in Laconia, Gilford, Belmont and Tilton in the 2008 primary, 2008 election as well as that in 2012.
Don’t know anything about Kenney. Doesn’t really matter. Appears that he does have some experience in Concord. That is good. So now for the next step, the real election on March 11, 2014.
I am sure Boothby will run for other office shortly. That is good. I wish him all the best.
The way I see how the two stack up, but I could be wrong … and it all depends on your viewpoint and perspective.
I have no animosity towards Boothby and wish him well in his race. I get a feeling that he could provide us with a few laughs in Concord.
