I am 100% with this pope when it comes to
sharing the wealth”.

I am a great believer in helping the poor.

My ONLY issue is that the Pope, himself,
can do a BILLION TIMES MORE than what he is doing!

This pope is ultra cheap. Check it out.

He loves to get on his bully pulpit and go on and on about
‘sharing the wealth’.

FINE.

Lets start with the Vatican.

That he decided to auction of his Hog is a great start, but is not enough.

Sell those 5 gold pallium pins that HE, like his predecessor, are so fond of.
Those 5 pins alone should raise at least a couple of million dollars.

This pope is ALL TALK, little action.

Lead by EXAMPLE.
Not by empty rhetoric.

Warren Buffett and Bill Gates and possibly Ted Turner
have given more to charity than this ‘hot air’ pope.

He has billions of assets at his SOLE disposal.

He doesn’t have to get anybodies approval — other than God’s
and I am sure God wouldn’t have any problems with selling
some Vatican knick knacks to help the poor.

But, then again you would think that an all
powerful God could eradicate poverty.

Aaahhhh!

The stupidity of this all.

‘The Laconia Daily Sun’ Apologizes For Recycling 3 Year Old News On Its Front Page.

I happened to see this, online, when I was trying to see if Christopher Boothby had managed to win his GOP primary.

Cracked me up.

But, my immediate reaction was: ‘so what is new?’

The real pertinent question is did they manage to get it RIGHT the second time around since there is a fairly good chance that they, per their wont, didn’t get it 100% right the first time around 3 years ago.

I guess Ed Engler, the new Mayor of Laconia, is still the Editor. So, come on, cut him some slack. Ed had enough on his plate even before he was mayor; e.g. one and two.

Plus, Ed, to his eternal credit, has never really worried too much about getting the facts right. Though I don’t think he ever worked for IBM, he appears to have taken to heart an endearing IBM adage that all of ol’ time IBMers used to be taught: “don’t confuse the issue with facts!”. Like so many of the other IBM adages this was very practical. My other favorite IBM adage, which I heard over and over again, and is very, very true, is: “you can’t make anything foolproof because fools are SO resourceful”.

Remember Ed and his ‘University of Whales‘.

So, cut them some slack. Recycling old news is one way to fill up the pages — when they FORGET their other old trick, printing the same story twice or even thrice with different headlines knowing that 96% of their readership will NOT notice it.

I also think that it is no longer possible to read ‘The Sun’ online without subscribing. C’est la vie. I don’t think I will bother to subscribe. Plus from what I can see they have NOT updated their ‘Past Issues’, i.e., archive, at all in 2014. OK, to be fair again, this is only the 3rd week in January and Ed has been BUSY. So that is OK too. As you might have noticed from my prior story I just went to the ‘Concord Monitor‘ instead.

As I said in my original post I have no skin in this game other than the fact that I have known both Ray Burton and Christopher Boothby, albeit in the case of the later, not of late. Given that I have always liked Ray and thought he was one of those rare, extraordinary people that grace the world, occasionally, I just wanted to point out that in my opinion Boothby in terms of personality was nowhere even close to Ray.

I know that the elector turnout was incredibly low; the weather no doubt a factor. It is possible that Boothby may have done better if more folks made it to the polls. But, he could have actually worked on that — and here I am talking as somebody who ferried folks to/fro to polling stations in Laconia, Gilford, Belmont and Tilton in the 2008 primary, 2008 election as well as that in 2012.

Don’t know anything about Kenney. Doesn’t really matter. Appears that he does have some experience in Concord. That is good. So now for the next step, the real election on March 11, 2014.

I am sure Boothby will run for other office shortly. That is good. I wish him all the best.

The way I see how the two stack up, but I could be wrong … and it all depends on your viewpoint and perspective.
I have no animosity towards Boothby and wish him well in his race. I get a feeling that he could provide us with a few laughs in Concord.

I have been checking everyday.

Finally this morning, January 22, 2014, I saw the above PENDING entry. Wellpoint, the Anthem subsidiary that takes care of N.H. The amount was correct.

The prior dates shown, viz. 01/21/2014 proves that I am talking about 01/22/2014 rather than an earlier date.

I am STILL not out of the woods though I am relieved. I made TWO (2) payments, both with this same credit card: the first on December 27, 2013 and the other on January 3, 2014, when that IDIOT INDIAN told me that there was no record of my Dec. 27 payment. He was wrong.

IF this is the December 27 payment, it has taken them
26 days to process it!

That has to be a record for a U.S. corporation in terms of processing time for a credit card transaction.

I saw some stuff on CNBC about Aetna and Obamacare that is making me very queezy. So the rates could be going up, dramatically, next year! ObamaCare might already be DEAD!

I am, of course, happy.

But, they have yet to process even one of the two payments I have made to-date: Dec. 27 & Jan. 3.

Not sure what to do. E-mailed both my contact at Anthem and N.H. Insurance Department.

February premium will be due soon and I don’t want my policy cancelled for non-payment.

Having the plastic card makes me happy, but this whole process, from October 1 has been a nightmare.
