All of my hogmanay celebrations, in Scotland, were in ‘Glasgow’
actually in Greenock.
So naturally I am partial to Hogmanay in Glasgow.
In a different phase of my life I used to get asked, at least once a year,
to come and do presentations at the ‘National Exhibition & Conference Center’
when they were hosting various large IT expositions.
One year I was the Keynote Speaker for the entire show
and addressed a crowd close to 800.
Largest crowd I have yet addressed.
It was a tad intimidating, even for me, with my years of experience,
to stand there and see an ocean of faces.
But, when I got started, and they started laughing
(given that I am noted for my humor when presenting),
I LOVED it and didn’t want to stop.

For obvious reasons OUR favorite ‘Bon Bon’.

And, of course, now to the video, on YouTube, taken by Deanna,
from the side of the stage … her view obscured by a black curtain.

I did not request the ‘right to know’ letter shown below containing this incendiary information.
The letter, with the ‘contact information’ blacked out (for obvious reasons), was delivered to our doorstep Saturday morning [along with two, HUGE, frozen venison burgers].
The SAU and ‘those that care’ in Alton know who requested this information. We, for two, thank that person for the continued vigilance.
July 1, 2013 and October 28, 2013.
So that is not even for YTD 2013. So for all we know he could have got paid a similar amount or more for ‘his immaculate, holy presence‘ between January 1, 2013 and July 1, 2013.
That our richly compensated and as such ‘nose in the air’ Superintendent claims that he is ‘unaware’ is quite RICH! If we are paying the architect $273.82 a DAY, shouldn’t the Superintendent, William (‘Bill’) P. Lander, have some idea as to when he visits the school? But, there is a pattern here, with this Superintendent — post 1 & post 2. As you can see from those posts, “I don’t know” or “I can’t do that” are phrases he utters often — which is very incongruous given his bearing — at least towards me and my wife.
Kind of sad. ACS can’t afford a full-time Resource Officer but we can pay $32,585.08 to an architect — BECAUSE from what it says in this letter he gets 8% of ALL Board Approved construction work performed at the school!
Think about that. So all that renovation that was done during the Summer. He got 8% of that though it really didn’t require any architectural input.
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
Delightful Animated Google Doodle For U.S. ‘Mother of Computer Programming’, Inventor Of ‘The Bug’, Grace Hopper’s 107th Birthday.

‘Play’ with the Doodle to see her type
and for THE BUG to fly out!
Given that I was a avid (and quite a good, if I may say so myself) programmer since I was 16, back in 1969,
it goes without saying that I am a great fan of Grace.
I used to teach about her in my Programming Classes. See two images below from those classes.
