I guess I must have been with ENH Power 6 months. Funny how time flies when there is no drama.

I was forced to switch to ENH Power when ‘Resident Power’ reneged on my 12 month contract with them.

So far, so good with ENH.

My bills have been reasonable.

I am not going to bother shopping around. I wouldn’t go with ‘Resident Power’ IF they offered me electric for free. I would rather go and get my own generator.

I just got a mailing from North American Power. Fixed rate 12 months 7.59 cents/KWH. BUT, the fine print of the agreement says THEY can cancel at any time, if they decide it’s uneconomical for THEM. What’s FIXED PRICE about that???

Isn’t that GREAT? That was my GRIPE about Resident Power. I signed a one-year contract and they dumped me after a few months because they couldn’t pay their bills. I got to know the CEO or whoever. He just could NOT understand why I was mad. It was the breach of contract. So far ENH has been ‘OK’. They tried to be cute. Gave me a HIGHER rate saying it was ‘guaranteed’ for 14 months rather than 12 — though they too can bail out at will. I haven’t checked my rates but I called and told them I don’t want 14 months, give me the cheaper 12 month rate. With so many things, whether it is health insurance, power, cable or Internet, we in N.H. get SCREWED because there is NO competition. Thanks. Cheers, Anura

I just got my Dec bill from Resident Power. It went from .0759/KWH in Nov to .18999/KWH in DEC!

I am told they are looking into it as there was no notification to anyone about the change in rate.

Any tips? I’ll definitely be leaving Resident Power, that’s for sure.

I am genuinely SORRY to hear that. I am a HUGE fan of alternate power for NH. I was with ‘Resident Power’ and got BURNED. Check my posts. Do a search on ‘Resident Power’. You will see that I refused to cash in my $8 check from them. They really need to be checked out. Keep me posted. They have the NH ‘regulatory body’, if that is the right word, under THEIR thumb. ENH, so far, has not screwed me — as far as I know. They tried to be cute and give me a higher rate for 14 months, rather than their advertised rate for 12 months. I had that fixed. All the best. Happy New Year.

Yes, I saw it. I’m working with a nice lady now (Megan) who says the issue I am having affects roughly 6000 people and has something to do with “People’s Power” which I think is out of Florida. I can only walk on eggshells for a while with them while they sort it out. Otherwise I’m out $750 this month EXTRA than what I would normally pay. Needless to say, I’ll be contacting my state rep if this doesn’t work out in my favor.

If the send me a $8 check, I’ll ask them for 100 more of them before I go away :>)
