I have been using the Skybox TV since Friday night, August 9, 2013.

The picture quality with the box is very good and 99.6% of the time there is no jitter, delays or breakups. It does not bear any resemblance to normal Internet streaming video. Though I refuse to watch ‘streamed’ cricket on a PC, I can definitely live with the Skybox TV.

I have been watching some of other Indian and International channels available through the box in addition to TEN Cricket. Again the quality is excellent. The wife and the kids love Bollywood music though none of us understand anything other than English — though I recognize a few words of Hindi from all the time I have spent in India. There is a Tamil channel but I don’t understand any Tamil — and lets face it, I hardly understand Sinhalese anymore, and definitely cannot read it, let alone write it (though all my schooling in Ceylon, till I was 14 was in Sinhalese).

I have watched, in total, about 2.5 hours of TEN Cricket. Did not experience any problems, whatsoever, during that time. It really was like having TEN on DISH. Deja Vu.

As I have said before, the most I time I can usually to devote to watching cricket is 45 minutes a day and that is between 10 and 10:45 pm. So I won’t get a chance to watch a ton of cricket, but I will try and watch each day to see how we go.

So stay posted.

How does one get skybox in US? Can you share contact info?

As far as I know the box is in the final stages of beta testing. I actually have call scheduled with one of the developers this afternoon. He wants to talk to me about my experience with box. Obviously the plan is to have an aggressive roll-out. I will keep you all informed. I am in touch with a number of the ‘key players’ on this on a near daily basis. They are very helpful. I have already told them that we need to start providing ordering information soon. OK? Thanks. Stay tuned. Cheers, Anura

As I get free espn3 via subscription of comcast cable, ten cricket is useless for me. ESPN3 is in HD and the picture quality is far better than Ten Cricket. I watch ESPN3 via xbox and apple tv (no laptop is required). So I might be enjoying better quality cricket viewing than you and would be others who are or would be watching live games on ten cricket through sky box tv.

    Shantanu,
I ordered one. They will ship me (there is a shipping cost, but box is free) the box. You need to pay $9.99 as the subscription fee for 3 months trial (for all 3 months, not per month).
Call 866-365-6723 and then ask for Extension 367 (Sanjoy).

I am not pestering you…I am not the type of Indian you think. I myself ordered the sky box tv and I paid for it. I was asking for your help to get it free like you as a beta testers. But anyways I bought it.

I received by SkyBox Tv today and I am watching TEN Cricket. But no LIVE games at this time. Are they going to show SriLankan T20s?

I guess they will eventually get around to it. They were displaying that day’s schedule for TEN yesterday. I have not been near my big TV all day. I know that they plan to offer ‘Catch Up’ on TEN soon. Maybe this weekend. That will tell us a lot about what programming is currently on TEN. Cheers, Anura.
