See July 15, 2013 post as to why I have cut back the rants to one or two a day.

#149. It happened again … NO PLAYBACK of recorded program on the Genie ‘piece of garbage’ Mini. This time it was movie. I wanted to check it out to see what it was like. Selected it from the recorded list and hit play. BLACK, bloody screen. Same as #144. Nothing. NADA. Not even static. Had to punch 202 and get out. Tried again. Nothing. Then I hit FF … after a few minutes got video! This is garbage.

#150. Activating MUTE on the Genie ‘piece of garbage’ Mini continues to confound me. Not a record. #125. 4 attempts this morning. Record is bloody 6.

I get to see on a daily basis the number of folks who are still upset that they lost TEN Cricket in the U.S.

This is the company that own TEN and is up to all the shenanigans.

Don’t even bother trying to contact them.

For a start, best of luck, trying to find somebody who can even speak broken, pidgen English. I have tried.

Bunch of Indian cowgirls — not manly enough to warrant being called cowboys
(and I apologize to our U.S. cowgirls in advance since they have class).

That is IT.

We, U.S. cricket lovers, remain screwed.

This was multiple logon problem I reported on July 24.

Basically, if you used Online Storage File Folders, which is a paid service for storing files online (i.e., ‘in the cloud), you could no longer just get to it from your GoDaddy e-mail. Now you had to logon again. This was annoying.

So, with great reluctance I bugged my high-level contacts at GoDaddy. They didn’t understand the problem to begin with … since File Folders is not something that most corporate workers worry about. (They rely on somebody else to backup their files.) But, this evening I had a call to say that they reproduced the problem! Success. Now that they understand it they are going to fix it.

They have raised an internal escalation trouble ticket. This is good stuff.

I hate to bother them but they get things fixed. I think they appreciate that I am judicious in bugging them and am also very appreciative.

So, I will let you know. This, however, will only work with the current, i.e., ‘classic view’. When we are forced to use the new interface I will have to fight another battle. But, that is for another day.

#147. The bloody Genie actually did IT. It recorded the same movie twice and even created a folder to store the 2 copies of the movie! I had discovered this bug on July 2. See #51. This time I didn’t spot the duplicate. But, I noticed I had a new folder. Same movie twice. How stupid can you get.

#148. Discovered today that Genie being on doesn’t really help with the no response from remote controller for 4 minutes problem. The TV has to be on too! Amazing.
