Currently in Europe, definitely the U.K., where it is NOW April 1.
Will update to U.S. at midnight Eastern.
Will provide link to Google archive after April 1.
Google loves their April Fool’s jokes. I kind of had a hunch that they would do something special this year.
Though if you want to be pedantic, April 1, as does January 1, starts off in Australia (or thereabouts), MIDNIGHT GMT (UTC), i.e., London time, has always been the accepted start time for April Fool’s — given that GMT has ruled the roots, if not the meridian, for centuries past.
As Brit I am quite used to checking and using Google (U.K.), www.google.co.uk, and has a papal historian, http://www.google.it (Italy). So a few minutes ago I brought up Google UK. I was disappointed that there was NO visible doodle. Just for the heck of it I moved my cursor over the logo. The cursor turned from a pointer to a HAND. BINGO.
I moved the cursor. I saw a bit of BLUE appearing. It was SCRATCH doodle.
Brilliant. Amazing. Bravo. Kudos.
I think this is even better than the much loved Zamboni game.
So, just go to Google UK and move your cursor ABOVE the displayed Google logo. Wait till it changes … Then start scratching.
I was using Chrome. I haven’t tried it with another browser. I was too excited. I wanted to post.
I will go back and get more information.
Enjoy. This is great.

Fasting For Two Consecutive Days Is Just Plain Wrong. It Is Immoral. Everything In Moderation. Fast Every Other Day. 3 Days A Week.
.by Anura Guruge
As such I have been much bothered ever since I heard about this inane fast for 2 consecutive days diet on CNN yesterday morning. I have talked to a few people about it since.
Fasting is good. Fasting works. I am all in favor of fasting. I just KNOW that fasting for 2 consecutive days is not the right way to do it.
The one thing from the Buddhism that I grew up with that I still adhere to is the ‘everything in moderation‘ advice (though I am willing to make an exception to that when it comes to sex). But, when it comes to dieting, and especially Fast Dieting you have to do it in moderation.
Fasting, indubitably, stresses your body. Yes, you learn to cope with it and that is why I insist that you have to torque up your ‘good’ hormone production, with exercise and orgasms, to counter this stress.
Fasting and ‘binging’ though the natural and obvious thing to do is also not right. Moderation. Yes, I did say ‘splurge’ on weekends. But, notice that that splurging was accompanied by 5-7 miles of jogging/running.
Please, by all means adopt a Fasting Diet — but please don’t fast for 2 consecutive days and please remember you have no choice but to ramp up those hormones.
All the best. Enjoy. Happy Easter.
<< I got mine in 20 days in July 2012 after an online renewal >>
An anonymous reader sent this to me this morning via e-mail:
Most people get theirs in two weeks. After three weeks I called DMV in Concord, and she said the printer has not picked it up.
I called Thursday this this week. The woman said: ‘it is in progress‘.
I said my son got his in two weeks; how come most people get theirs in two weeks, and others longer. Her answer: ‘It depends on the cycle‘. I asked what does that mean? No answer.
Now it will be four weeks. After having my license for 40 years I feel like I’m on the 60 day probation. I also did mine online. This is causing some anxiety.
In process or being processed feel like I’m getting the runaround.
