Glengarry Bhoys

Watch them on YouTube. This is Pipe Rock at its BEST. These ‘kids’ have talent and were a load of fun. I miss them.

The ‘Glengarry Bhoys’ (who on occasion had some amazing gals) were a much loved FEATURE in my early days at the Games, 1998 to c. 2001. They rocked. They jammed with other groups, with gusto (a bit like Albannach now does).

You had no choice but to dance when they played.

I could be wrong but I think one of the girls that played with them now plays for ‘The Brigadoons’ — both groups being neighbors (and family) back in Canada.

One of my most memorable memories of the Games over the years is the ‘Bhoys’ having done a ‘closing of the games’ 4pm performance decided to have an impromptu jam while they were packing up. Most had left. It was still light. Loon was in its glory. They took out their instruments and started prancing around the Parade Ground. We, my son and I, had hung around as we were wont to do. They ran around the ground, playing dancing and having a whole load of fun. It was for free. They were having fun. I miss them.
