I gather they blossomed two-days ago, but today was the first time I saw them. The usual place, not very far from us. I typically go by there at least once a day — but often that is at 9:30pm at night when it is pitch black.
The Town (viz. ‘Alton‘) a couple of weeks ago totally cleared the bottom half of that slope of all vegetation. I wondered if they would harm some of the plants. They might have. But, they are above the law as far as I know when it comes to harming Lady Slippers. I guess they have to maintain the roads.
It was raining when I got to the Ladys this morning. The bank, freshly cleared was slippery and I am still nursing my recovering knee. So, I wasn’t too adventurous about scrambling up to snap more pictures. I will go back in a few days.
Enjoy.
