Taken with my Panasonic Lumix FZ1000. JPEGs, as usual, with no post-processing, whatsoever. Straight out of the camera. I am not a lover of post-processing.
Canon PowerShot G1 X packed ready to go back to Canon. I bought another camera today!

Yes, it is official. After 7 phone calls I finally got an admission today.

Yes, one of their main routers is down and another is working at half speed. That is the MAIN problem. They have some other issues too.

At least 100 customers, which includes ME, will CONTINUE to be starved of bandwidth. They will TRY to improve matters tonight.

But the CPU board they require to fix the main router is on order and it will be a FEW days.

Heads up. Check your bandwidth. When it is all done I will ask and get a LARGE REFUND. Of that there will be no doubt or debate. Not paying for bandwidth I am NOT getting. You should do the same.

Social Security Administration: Needs 3 Months To Manually Calculate Child Benefits?

Well, as I have shared with YOU a few times I applied for my Social Security pension now that I (to my utter amazement) lived to see 62. I don’t care what all the so called experts claim, I was NOT going to wait a day beyond my 62nd birthday. Waiting any longer seems very stupid and shortsighted. As the saying goes: “A bird in bed is worth four at the bar”.

I went to the local Social Security office, in Concord, in June, and did all the paperwork. Yes, they made me jump through some hoops but I managed.

I was TOLD that since I had two eligible kids under 18 that they too can get some of the benefits. I did not complain. I, over the years, had paid a lot of money into SSA.

Well, I have yet to see a check (let alone a proper cheque) BUT my first one is said to be on Wednesday, November 10, 2015. There were some scuffles along the way but eventually it appeared that I was all set. I do have a letter to say that — though I know it means diddly.

So that was June. We are now in October. 4 months.

Not a word about the kids benefits.

We have called 3 times — and it has to be ‘WE’ since they will only tell Deanna the information about the kids!

Last but one time we called, in September, we were told that ‘they’ will start looking into the kids’ benefits on October 8, 2015. On Monday, October 26 we called.

We were told that they have to MANUALLY compute the benefits because Deanna is on disability and that this could take 3 months to complete.

That blows my mind.

How can any computation, even by hand, take 3 months? We are talking about computing the value of Pi to trillion decimal points.

This is beyond STUPID.

Tell me the parameters and I will create an Excel spreadsheet for them in a few hours.

Amazing. Amazing.

Yes, fancy that. Just like how I would get randomly picked, 100% of time, for the 2nd security pat down at the gate, when flying after 9/11. Yep. Real coincidence.

It was as with the 2010 U.S. Census. I think they came around a dozen times and I am sure they secretly videotaped us. “Wow, a non-white guy, this far NORTH in New Hampshire and he claims that he evens owns a house”. We have to document this and keep tabs on him. Well, it wasn’t as bad as I first moved to New Hampshire in 1986 and moved to a rural community, which prior to my arrival, had been 100% white for 200 years. In 1997 I was told by a lady, in Meredith, that I was the FIRST NON-WHITE person that her 9-year old daughter had ever seen!

Yep, picked at random. Look. Look. A flying pig.

The survey is dead keen to know three things.

1/ Whether you have ANY Latino in you and IF so how you got here. I am not kidding. They are paranoid as to whether you might have some Latino in you. WOW.

2/ Whether you have health insurance and how you got it.

3/ How much money you make and how you make it.

Talk about intrusive and blatant. I bet Republicans will love this. Jee, they ask DIG. Surprised that they didn’t ask me about my sex life.

But they, probably because of ‘Mittens‘, also seem very anxious to determine whether you are bigamist. They ask you all these questions as to whether you are (during the last 12 months) married, divorced, widowed etc and do it in such a way that it sure looks like they are trying to trip you up. Also wants to know how many times you have been married. I JUST managed to creep in under the wire.

Not a fun survey. Very scary. But I did it. I had no option. I know they would come and get me IF I didn’t respond. Said so on the envelope. Looked like it was scrawled in blood. “This is the LAW. You better respond IF you know what is good for you”.

Just a heads up.
