It was OUTSTANDING.

Left one wanting MORE … MORE … MORE.

This was the first time the ‘Castle in the Clouds‘ had done this event, i.e., having the ‘Barnstormers‘ (from Tamworth, NH) perform, and with their customary Midas touch they hit a rich vein of pay dirt. It was OUTSTANDING. The best $10 I have spent in years. Wow. Loved it as did everyone else that was there — and it was a full house.

Very well organized and that the upstairs room in the imposing Carriage House is air-conditioned and that there were adult beverages for sale was a bonus.

Yes, it was advertised that it would be ‘about an hour’. It lasted 44-minutes from the time the cast arrived in the room till they took their final bow. The timestamps on my pictures tell the stories. That was our only disappointment. It should have been longer. Even a full hour would have been too short. 90-minutes would have been close to perfect — and they could have definitely charged us more. Well worth it.

Great cast. Enormously talented. Very personable. Bravo.

THANK YOU ‘Castle in the Clouds‘. Another wonderful event.

Sunday Buffet Brunch, In Winter, At The “Castle In The Clouds”, Definitely Looks Like A Winner.

We, as you must have realized, are huge fans of ‘The Castle In The Clouds‘ and ‘attached’ ‘Carriage House Restaurant‘. We try to eat there as often as we can, but are also often thwarted in that they are so, so busy.

This is the first I had heard about these Winter 2019 Sunday buffet brunches. I am a brunch addict. This looks GREAT. I am going to try and go as soon as I can.

Just wanted to share it with you.

Happy New Year.

Our second “Christmas at the Castle”, last year having been our first. By now we are, however, reaching ‘veteran’ status in terms of visits. This I think was our eighth visit to the ever enchanting “Castle In The Clouds“.

It was, of course, good. Big change in terms of weather from last year. No snow last year and it may have been a tad warmer. But, compared to the last few days it was warm — in the mid-30s Fahrenheit. But, it wasn’t too crowded. Strange. The parking lot was overflowing and people were parking on the access roads. But, the Castle itself was relatively sparse in terms of visitors. That was nice.

If we were to be honest, the decorations were not as lavish and grand as last year’s. I didn’t check but I suspect they had less donated ‘tableaus’ than last year. But, it still was good, pleasing and worth seeing. We had fun. I took 290 pictures.

There was also the craft fair. That was pretty crowded.

After a 45-minute wait we gave up on eating at the “Carriage House Restaurant“. They looked rushed and harried and the seating seemed cramped. So, we drove down the road to “Buckey’s” as we had done on another visit. They are always good.

So, highly recommended. Two thumbs up with no caveats.

Thank YOU, “Castle in the Clouds” — and we plan to be there next Christmas as well.

This is a worthwhile, fun & rewarding experience. We took part in the May 2018 ‘Spring Clean Up Day‘ and it was a blast. Since all three of us did the full 4-hour shift we got six free tickets which we have yet to use.

Being around the spectacular Castle is always fun and the staff is ultra nice. In May we also got a very nice, free lunch. Hope the weather is good in November.

You should sign up. You will enjoy it. It is good to support the Castle.

We are at the ‘Castle in the Clouds‘, Moultonborough, N.H., yet again — albeit this the first time in 2018.

It was for the Spring volunteer clean up day and I was washing the exterior of the two trolleys. I had to get hot water and was told to do so from the Men’s Room at the ‘Carriage House’. The bucket wa big and it took some time to fill and I had to fill it three times.

Right in front of me was a BIG mirror and I was the only one, in each instance, in the Men’s room.

The rest is history.

‘Castle In The Clouds’ (Moultonborough, NH), Spring Clean Up Day: Cleaning The Trolleys.

We like the “Castle In The Clouds“. We visited for the first time last July, became members right away, and ended up going three more times last year — including Christmas.

We are still members and plan to renew our membership this year because it is a worthy and noble cause.

I got an e-mail about today’s Volunteer Day and thought it would be a worthwhile and possibly even fun thing to do. So, I responded that 3 of us will volunteer for the full 4-hours, 10am to 2pm.

As luck would have it it was a PERFECT day to be outside working.

I had seen that they needed the two trolleys cleaned and when we got there nobody else had shown and interest in doing that. So, I said that we will do it.

It worked out well. I did the outside. Deanna did the inside and Teischan kind of flitted about helping here and there.

It was not trivial, but we did it.

They gave us a GOOD lunch and we got to sit outside, in the Sun, and enjoy the incomparable views. See pictures here.

So, that was the better part of the day.

Met some nice people. Some that knew me. Getting scary. Met three people in total who knew me.

We got 6 free tickets to boot. Not that we need them, but as they pointed out we can give them to friends and family.
