This was a GREAT story. It made my day. So good to see that we still have decent, compassionate, charitable folks like he.
Mr. Jay Singh, please take a bow. You have done all of us Asians proud. Good on YOU.
This is from the story:
“He said, ‘I’m hungry. I’m stealing it for myself and my younger brother.’ I said you need food? I’ll give you food. That’s not a problem,” Singh said.
Mr. Singh, modestly, attributed this compassion and charity to ‘Indian culture’. That is true.
But, I have a hunch that it goes beyond that.
I cannot, alas, be 100% sure, but I suspect that Mr. Jay Singh is a sikh — despite the lack of a hat on his head, or a bracelet on his arm.
Jay Singh can very well be a Sikh name.
All ‘Singhs’ are NOT Sikhs, BUT ALL Sikh men are ‘Singhs’. Get that. Having a last name Singh is the norm for a Sikh man.
So, why am I making a big deal that he might be a Sikh.
Sikhs have a deeply ingrained tradition when it comes to charity and giving — especially food to the needy.
I know quite a few Sikhs. Most are AMAZING folk. Generous to a fault.
That bracelet they are supposed to wear bears testament to that. They wear it to remind them that that is the hand with which they do good.
Sikhs, because some wear turbans and have beards, are often mistaken for Muslims. They are not Muslims.
Get to know a Sikh.
This just happens to be a great time to talk about Sikhs. They have a major holiday, ‘Vaisakhi‘, that always coincides with the Sinhala New Year, coming up this Sunday, April 14.
Yes, accidents happen.
But, it is a shame that we now have litter and debris on the Moon! Yes, on the Moon.
They are claiming that Mount Everest is now like a garbage dump. It would be a shame if we had debris all over the surface of the Moon.
Yes, of course, they didn’t want it to happen, but did they do adequate testing to really, really avoid a failure. I remember reading that their very first rocket burn failed due to a basic programming error. I, alas, did a lot of work with Israeli high tech companies during ‘dot.com’. I learnt that they are cavalier and rush the software. SMILE.

Wow. Their stock performance in Israel has not been stellar — and that is saying it kindly.
I would NOT touch this U.S. IPO. The stock, in Israel, right now, seems to be on a downward trajectory.
Also seems a bit late in the day to do an U.S. IPO. They went public in Israel 12-years ago!
During ‘dot.com’ I did a ton of work for a number of Israeli high-tech companies. Great folks to work with, but I kind of learnt one thing. It is not easy for outsiders to make money in Israeli companies. Yes, of course, there are exceptions.
This one does not fill me with optimism. But, you can check it out.
Did You Know That Israel Just Passed A Parliamentary Bill Proclaiming That It Is Principally A Jewish State?
I happened to see it when I was scanning through “Sky News” last night.
I was shocked — mainly in that I had not heard about it.
This seems like a MAJOR change in Israel’s status — but folks are claiming that it is not so. That it is only codifying the obvious and what has been the law of the land since its inception in 1948. Though I have visited Israel once, have done a ton of work for Israeli companies and have an alter-ego in Israel, I am not qualified to really tell you what-is-what.
My gut feel is that this is NOT good.
When I then hear that this could only have got approved under a Donald Trump presidency, it gets me worried further.
It just doesn’t sound kosher to I.
Looks like they are discriminating against all of the now-Jewish folk that live in Israel — and 25% of the population is indeed non-Jewish.
You should look it up. Appears that the Wall Street Journal did cover it bit my days of reading the WSJ on a daily basis are long gone.
YOU have to watch THIS. You will THANK ME for it.
Pretty amazing. I have over the years seen plenty of acrobatic, aerial stuff, BUT this was still pretty amazing.
I thought they were from Israel. NO. Brazil. Do not ask me how so many of them were able to come over and WHO paid for it.
Enjoy. Be amazed.

This is kind of wild.
BUT, I think I kind of found the explanation. If you read the fine print it it says the data is from the UN — and that life expectancy within countries is NOT available!
Not sure where they found the data for the ‘unaffiliated’ — what I treated as ‘atheists‘, though I am fully aware that ‘unaffiliated’ is broader and includes folks like I who do not believe in any religion per se, irrespective of a belief in God.
Now it makes more sense and I can see why Muslims prop up the table. They were using data from countries ravaged by violence.
So, nowhere near as ‘good’ as it initially looks.
But, I wanted to share.
