Opinion In ‘Quora’ On How To Increase Your IQ Fairly Consistent With My Beliefs.

I have some fairly strong views on intelligence, IQ and IQ Tests — which I have spelled out in my two “Brain Meditation” books. I think we are all born with a maximum potential IQ rating that we can never exceed whatever we do, how hard we try. That said, I am know that most of us do not even get within spitting distance of that Max. I reckon that in the majority of instances our brains, at best, are working 30% to 35% BELOW that Max. But, the good news is that we can work on trying to improve on that number — i.e., go higher up in terms of brain utilization, and hence ‘IQ’ rating.

I know that you can learn, train and practice to be better at IQ tests. Anything that regularly stimulates brain chemicals, in a good way, such as just plain thinking and meditation, also helps, indubitably.

Hence, why I could relate to this Quora post and even bothered to bring it to your attention. The last 4 items listed are all to do with THINKING. The ‘imagine’ admonition is a variant of what I urge in terms of ‘virtualization‘ in my ‘Brain Meditation‘ program. So, check it out. You have nothing to lose.

If This Claim Is True, Then A Lot Of Us Must Have 146+ IQs.

by Anura Guruge

I saw this and couldn’t resist — though I knew that my IQ was NOWHERE close to 146. I am more in the double-digit range. I just wanted to see how difficult it was.

It is a SCAM.

It is trivial.

If you need an IQ of 146 to get 100% on this, then there must be a ton of folks who have 146+ IQs.

OK, I HAD to look it up. 146+ IQ is said to be restricted to LESS than the TOP 1% in the world. In that case this test and article is a FAKE.

Is Intelligence, i.e., IQ, In Someway Related to Brain Cell Size, i.e. Neuron Size?

I guess, like I, you too may have wondered, more than once, as to what makes some folks more intelligent than others.

Obviously it has something to do with the brain. It can’t be a function of anything else.

This hypothesis, as such, has some merit — especially because it also contends that more intelligent people have more connectivity between their brain cells. That certainly would help.

So, check this out. What have you got to lose?

Visually Intelligent — A Visual IQ Test For What It Is Worth.

I happened to see it in today’s U.K. “Daily Mail”.

They, as is their wont, had hyped it up and claimed: ‘those who pass have an incredible ability to analyse and calculate what they see‘. That intrigued me. I think of myself as being fairly decent at being able to analyse what I see.

So, I took the test. I found it trivial, with hardly a need to dally at any of the questions. I was able to breeze through and I knew I was getting each one right! Just knew. Pretty obvious. So, I was not surprised to be told I got them all right.

Not sure what it proves. It seemed too simple. But, I am sharing with you just in case you too might be slightly curious (always bearing in mind that that is supposed to be what killed the infamous cat).

Humdinger Of An IQ Test — Try It IF You Want To Feel Humbled.

by Anura Guruge

This, if it is truly bona fide, is AN IQ Test!

Wow.

I am a veteran of IQ tests and must have done close to a hundred in my days. I recounted in my first “Brain Meditation” book (last years) how IBM made me take 3 IQ Tests, when I was 19, one at 10pm at night and then gave me an unconditional job offer — good for ‘life’. I include that snippet below, BUT I assume you all read it in the book. Right? {SMILE}

This is good — assuming it is NOT bogus.

It starts of EASY PEASY and lulls you into a sense of complacency. Then BANG.

I found this on MarketWatch this morning.

I did the test, this morning, on my pad, while doing my ablutions in the bathroom! I was also in a hurry since I needed to start shoveling. I didn’t go for the complete result profile. Didn’t have time. But, it did say that my results were above average. That might not mean much and with all due modesty “I damn well hope I am still above average”.

But, try it. Forget the score …

Do it just to see the questions, no numbers.

All symbols, all 40 of them.

Enjoy.

Seems like a fair assessment.

Still image quality (IQ) & autofocus (AF) are highly rated as is “One of the best APS-C cameras at high ISO”. So all of that is good. This is encouraging too: “Still this is the most powerful and usable Sony APS-C camera to date. It can keep up on the sidelines and in the gymnasium with its DSLR competitors thanks to its excellent AF system and impressive buffer.”

From everything I have heard (and I have done a fair amount of digging on this camera) the criticism of the touchscreen is justified. Shame Sony couldn’t get this right.

The 85% score is impressive and up there with the TOP contenders.

But, it did NOT get a GOLD award — because the overall score does not necessarily correspond to the award.

The score, basically, is a technical assessment of the features and capabilities.

The award, however, is subjective and factors in ‘user friendliness’, character and appeal. And that I understand. I feel the same — and have said so. It is not a fun camera to use!
