Opinion In ‘Quora’ On How To Increase Your IQ Fairly Consistent With My Beliefs.

I have some fairly strong views on intelligence, IQ and IQ Tests — which I have spelled out in my two “Brain Meditation” books. I think we are all born with a maximum potential IQ rating that we can never exceed whatever we do, how hard we try. That said, I am know that most of us do not even get within spitting distance of that Max. I reckon that in the majority of instances our brains, at best, are working 30% to 35% BELOW that Max. But, the good news is that we can work on trying to improve on that number — i.e., go higher up in terms of brain utilization, and hence ‘IQ’ rating.

I know that you can learn, train and practice to be better at IQ tests. Anything that regularly stimulates brain chemicals, in a good way, such as just plain thinking and meditation, also helps, indubitably.

Hence, why I could relate to this Quora post and even bothered to bring it to your attention. The last 4 items listed are all to do with THINKING. The ‘imagine’ admonition is a variant of what I urge in terms of ‘virtualization‘ in my ‘Brain Meditation‘ program. So, check it out. You have nothing to lose.

If This Claim Is True, Then A Lot Of Us Must Have 146+ IQs.

by Anura Guruge

Click image to access this math quiz at the U.K. “Daily Mail”.

I saw this and couldn’t resist — though I knew that my IQ was NOWHERE close to 146. I am more in the double-digit range. I just wanted to see how difficult it was.

It is a SCAM.

It is trivial.

If you need an IQ of 146 to get 100% on this, then there must be a ton of folks who have 146+ IQs.

OK, I HAD to look it up. 146+ IQ is said to be restricted to LESS than the TOP 1% in the world. In that case this test and article is a FAKE.

Scientists Believe They Found The Genes Responsible For Intelligence.

I think this is way to premature and speculative — and by that I mean the ‘link to (true) intelligence‘ part. I am sure that these 150 genes are related to thinking skills, BUT I am personally not convinced that enough research has been done to establish how they relate to intelligence.

But, I wanted to make sure that you did not miss this news. Hence, this post.

Is Intelligence, i.e., IQ, In Someway Related to Brain Cell Size, i.e. Neuron Size?

I guess, like I, you too may have wondered, more than once, as to what makes some folks more intelligent than others.

Obviously it has something to do with the brain. It can’t be a function of anything else.

This hypothesis, as such, has some merit — especially because it also contends that more intelligent people have more connectivity between their brain cells. That certainly would help.

So, check this out. What have you got to lose?

“Brain Meditation”: The Purest Form Of Meditation — My Latest Initiative.

by Anura Guruge

If you are even vaguely familiar with whom I am you may know that over the years I have, at various times, been an acknowledged expert on IBM networking, popes, comets and orgasms. I have also written books on all those topics (as well as about dwarf planets and asteroids). That I was able to master these diverse topics, without undue difficulty, had to do with a technique I started to practice over 40 years ago.

It all has to do with the relationship I have with my brain — rather than anything to do with ‘intelligence’. I do not consider myself an intellect. I have dealt with, worked with and lived with folks that were so much cleverer than I that I know the difference. So this technique is about cleverness. It is about getting the best of the IQ you already have. It is about getting the best from your brain. It is about creating a ONENESS between you and your brain.

About 3 years ago my son, the entrepreneur, suggested that I should document my technique. At that juncture I used to call it “Befriending Your Brain“. It is actually a VERY EASY technique to master and practice (which is why I was so successful with it). You do not have to devote any dedicated time in order to “do it”. It is all done, on-the-fly, in “timeshare” mode — while you do other things, like brushing your teeth, driving to work, ‘relieving yourself’, taking a walk.

Anywho, when I started writing the book — which is now finished — I realized that what I actually have is a meditation technique, a very powerful one at that. Brain Meditation. So let me please give you an initial preview.

This seems quite the dynamite article even for the intrepid folks at the U.K. “Daily Mail” who are always willing to go out on a limb in order to keep us enlightened and entertained.

I am willing to buy, to an extent, that intelligent people are more willing to take care of themselves and have the capacity to watch their diet better etc. But I think we all know exceptions. My adoptive father was one of the most intelligent people I knew and he was overweight all his life. But, on the other hand, he wasn’t sick that often.

Food for thought. When I saw this on Thursday morning I wanted to make sure I shared it with YOU.

With This Post I Claim ‘First Use Rights’ Of The Term ‘Infactrivs’.

Of course there is a reason. There is (and has always been) a method to my madness.

I just want ‘first use right’ if this ever, ever came up (not that it really can because among other things book titles cannot be copyrighted!)

I did a Google & BING search just to be sure.

Beauty of today’s blogging. A WordPress post which is timestamped and preserved (forever by WordPress) is such a wonderful and totally free way to establish a claim.

With luck all will become clear soon.

In the meantime try out the word. It really does roll off your tongue. Yes, ‘today’ (actually yesterday since it is now 1 am), it having been Deanna’s birthday, we went for a long walk on Old Orchard Beach, ME. This word came to my head while I was walking. The joys of befriending your brain.
