The ‘Fort Stark‘, historic site, just south of Portsmouth, N.H., is one of our closest points to the ocean. As such we tend to visit Ft. Stark fairly often, at least once a year — and looking back at my pictures I realize that we tend to make the first visit in early Spring. So, we lived up to form on Sunday, Easter. We went down to Portsmouth, for Easter, to see ‘Sherlock Gnomes‘ and then have dinner. But, we wanted to visit the ocean before. So, we went to Ft. Stark. It was a bit grey and a tad windy. There were only about 4 other people in total around.

But, it was, as usual, still fun. We walked around. Clamored among the rocks. There was a large ship coming in … and a tug from Portsmouth was going out to meet it. There was a helicopter overhead. We were there for about 45-minutes.

Enjoy.

Torsten ‘Tee Gee’ Glaenzel, Professional Photographer Par Excellence, Applies His Magic To One Of My Pictures.

by Anura Guruge

I have raved about Torsten Glaenzel, the amazing photographer,
before: here and here.

He liked one of my photos of Fort Stark and wanted to apply
his skills and imagination to it, as a black & white image,
using Adobe Lightroom (at which he is a pro).
Torsten justifiably is known for his black & white work.

This morning I got this image from Torsten with his magic applied to it.

This was the original.

This was MY attempt at converting it to b&w when Torsten
first told me that this picture would look good in monochrome.

Fort Stark, New Hampshire In Black & White — 6 Images — For ‘Tee Gee’, Torsten Glaenzel.

by Anura Guruge

Torsten Glaenzel, as I talked about in this post, is an exceptionally brilliant commercial photographer. We ‘met’ on the Web through our mutual interest in photography. We are Facebook friends. This way we get to see each others photographs and his are, such as this one from yesterday, are mind blowingly good. So when he likes one of my pictures or comments on one I take notice since he is the master. Last night he suggested that I try one of my Fort Stark ‘bunker’ pictures in Black & White (– the first one shown here). So to be on the safe side I did 6. Nothing fancy. Just used the B&W filters in Picasa 3.

Thank YOU, Tee Gee.
