The book — and it is selling well (certainly better than my pope book though the Kindle version is 10x more expesive). Click to access Amazon listing.

Given my longtime interest in any and all matters related to orgasms I kind of knew about ‘orgasmic births’ — though, until a couple of days ago, I had never bothered to research it.

Well I was delighted to find that there is a ton of material about it — including a published study. The Website above, with a video documentary that was discussed on ABC News, is a good place to start. I actually chatted with Debra Pascali-Bonaro, the lady that is featured in the videos and is co-author of the book, yesterday, via e-mail. She, as is to be expected, is very bullish about and committed to the cause. I applaud them all. There is also at least two related videos on YouTube

Though I have not had any experience of it, I am a believer. Makes sense to me — and yet again I did some research. As I have been saying for awhile my next book is on orgasms — which, of course, makes sense since my last two were on popes. I hadn’t planned to start on it this soon after the last book, but come Monday, after just a week of not working on a book, I had no choice but to start. I decided to open the book with Obirths since it is compelling and has a nice ‘in the beginning’ touch to it. So check it out. IF you are going to be giving birth I cannot see any downside of exploring this possibility. What a story you can then tell.

Click to access Cricinfo coverage photo gallery. Notice the ‘subtle’ Rasta colors on his gloves. They are also on the inside of his pads. I noticed that they now have grips in Rasta colors. Nothing wrong. Glad the ‘boys’ can show their colors the way they want.

This series as I have already raved about twice has been a gem. That the Windies won, ‘convincingly’ (thanks to Gayle), after the (deserved) shellacking in the First Test was a bonus (for I) — though I would have been nearly as happy with an honorable draw.

Of course congratulations are due to Kraigg Brathwaite (21), Darren Bravo (25), Jermaine Blackwood (22), Shivnarine Chanderpaul (39) of course, Chris Gayle (34) of course, Mark Craig (27) in his 2nd Test, BJ Watling (28), Tom Latham (22) and all the bowlers from both sides.

I watched most of the 5th day, ball-by-ball. Time be damned. I realize that I now don’t spend 1/100th of the time I used to spend watching cricket — much of it in person. So, I think I am due. Yes, I saw Chris hit is audacious 80. I had to remind myself that it was still a Test and not an ODI. It was fun.

When the NZ lead ticked past 60 my sanguinity went out of the window. Ten runs later I was definitely worried. Later on I heard Courtney or Jeff (and to me they both sound exactly the same as Michael and in my head I only see and ‘hear’ Michael) say the same thing. So it is good that all of old hands think alike on this matter. Yep, I had vision of an all mighty collapse for ’76’ with Southee getting an hatrick.

Though they won I am not at all truly convinced about this Windies team — whether it be the captaincy, the batting, the bowling, the keeping or the fielding (and as the saying goes “other than that they are fine”). Everything to me seems brittle just under the surface. I learned late last night why Narine is NOT playing. I had assumed he was injured. In my dotage I understand both side — management and player. This contract ‘violation’ having to do with overseas commitments has plagued WI cricket for four decades now. ‘We’ have to learn how to dispense dispensations with aplomb. Sunil playing in the final of the IPL, most likely in front of 50,000 possessed Indian fans, has to be better experience, match training and consolidation of mental fortitude (for spinner) than a day in training camp. It was probably 1978, but I had this conversation with Gordon, in a supermarket aisle, in Hampshire, re. him playing for Packer rather than for the Test team. He basically told me, with his always so charming lopsided grin: “I am of course happy playing for Packer. I am making money.” Of course things are much better on the financial front for the Caribbean players these days BUT I now appreciate that they do have to make as much they can in their prime. I hope they relent and let him play in the 3rd — though I doubt it.

Despite their scores I am not as yet sold on Brathwaite, Edwards or Bravo! That is a problem — right? That is the top three! I might dabble with Simmons. He has sticking power. Also Dwayne Romel Smith. Took me awhile but I have come to like him. I think Edwards should be dropped and we should have Smith or Simmons in his place — and that would help my hypertension.

Not sure about Gabriel. We need — and am I REALLY going to say this — another spinner! Sorry Clive. Again dotage. I now actually appreciate the power and beauty of spin. Wow. Did I just say what I did? IF we can’t have Narine maybe — and that is one heck of a maybe — Krishmar Santokie. Yes, I know he has zero Test experience — and this will be crunch match.

This shuffling of captaincy from player-to-player to ease the ‘burden’ does NOT work for me. Keeper-Captains always seem to have issues. Let Chris captain again. He was good at it.

That is enough for now. The series is level. The 10 wicket victory margin reminded me of a STREAK we had in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Look it up. Something like 4 or 5 in a 18 month period — and that was, and wait for it, YES, Gordon and Desmond. One of them, if my memory hasn’t totally abandoned me was at the Oval, 5th Test, in the dark. Or that is what I remember. Need to hit the Wisdens one night. Looking it up online is not the same.

Now that is a HOOK. Gordon Greenidge, my MAN, the man after who my son is named, showing how it should be done -- though to see Gordon in a helmet breaks my heart. He only started wearing one late in his career.

Now that is a HOOK. Gordon Greenidge, my MAN, the man after who my son is named, showing how it should be done — though to see Gordon in a helmet breaks my heart. He only started wearing one late in his career.

I have only watched the highlights (‘hits’) from the first two days. In a few minutes, after writing a couple more posts, I will go and have my late, ‘FULL’ (day-off from running) breakfast and watch at least 40 minutes of Day 3.

The Day 2 batting by the West Indies was CLASS — and I have over the decades watched enough WI innings to know true class when I see it. This was not vintage but it was getting there. Kraigg Brathwaite was a revelation. 21 years old. He did good. Still not convinced about Darren Bravo though he too did good. Some beautiful, heart warming shots. The straight drives from both of them were so divine. I am sure the straight driving is a positive from ODIs. The West Indies play straight more than they hook. Actually they, in reality, rarely hook. More a pull shot as opposed to a Gordon Greenidge, Roy Fredericks, Collis King, Vivian Richards or a Clive Llyod, pivot on your heels, full-blooded hooks. [And when it comes to hooking I will confess that I was a fairly decent exponent too.]

Good game. Good test. Really enjoying it. Yes, of course, it helps if the Indies are batting like champs.

Well 3 more days to go.

Full Disclosure:
 own shares in Trimel.

Following yesterday’s post where I talked about the lifetime orgasm numbers you should be aiming for etc., it occurred to me that I should share with you some ‘planning’ tables — though they are very easy to work out, and I had been thinking of saving them to use in my first book on this delightful subject. But, I decided to share. Click to ENLARGE. Not profound, at all. Easy to work out. Dear ladies — just multiply these numbers, for us poor men, by 2 (or greater). SMILE. And you all will sure be SMILING. Why do you think that I smile so much.

Of course we could have and should have done better. But, this is the ‘modern’, 21st century WI team. Yes, of course, calamities like this did not happen with ‘my’ team. But, c’est la vie. This is all part of the magic of Caribbean cricket.

Not sure why Shiv is batting at #4. He should be at #3. Any talk about that he needs a bit more time for the shine to be taken off the ball (or similar) is bogus. With Powell and Edwards at #2 & #3 he is coming in when the ball is but a few overs old. So what is the difference. Reminds me of a ‘important’ match I played for IBM. The captain, Guy Wilson, tells me “OK. I will open. I will take the new ball. You can then come in at #3 and smash a few quick runs”.  He was out first ball. I might as well have opened! So that is my logic for Shiv. Yes, he is 40. Reactions are not what it was, BUT you can’t top is experience. He always needed a bit more time. Going in at #3 would give him that time. Here is my thinking. IF he had gone in at #3, and yes, of course, things could have changed, he might have got to hundred in the first innings. IF he did get that hundred and there were, lets say two wickets left, he might have given us another quick 50. So we could have had say 80 more runs — just by virtue of him coming in one wicket earlier. 80 runs in the first innings could have changed the whole complexion.

So, Shiv definitely should be at #3.

Where is Sammy? I, if my life depended on it, will always, but always, pick half-brother Dwayne over Darren. Yea, yea, yea. Darren looks the part etc., BUT Dwayne is the fighter and that is what we again need in the side. Some fighters.

Marlon breaks my heart and my heart goes out to him. He, when firing on most of his cylinders, is so good. But, he is looking more and more pedestrian of late. I think, and I hate to say this, but we need to ditch him. Put him out of his misery.

They have to bring Dwayne Smith back. He will start clicking soon. He inspires more confidence than Powell. Ditto Simmons for Edwards. Screw their current averages. Look at temperament and potential. Is Narine injured.

Well this is my take.
