U.S. FDA Warns ‘Dollar Tree’ Of Selling Possibly Unsafe Drugs & Cosmetics.

by Anura Guruge

Wow. This is NOT good. Yes, we shop at ‘Dollar Tree’ — though NOT as much as we used to. I love the $1 junky toys & trinkets they sell — solar-powered holiday gizmos, colorful but cheap decorations for the yard, JAMAICAN beef jerk meat pies, reading glasses, sunglasses etc. etc. But, we don’t really buy and drugs, other than say hydrogen peroxide, 2% hydrocortisone cream and others of that ilk. Most of the ‘generics’ we buy are from Walmart, BUT this FDA warning appears to indicate that Walmart too might be jipping us.

Well, we all need to be on the lookout. This is not good. I am glad that the FDA is looking into this.

Now you know. Now we have been warned. All the best.

“America’s Got Talent” (AGT) 2018 Finalist, ‘Michael Ketterer’, Saint To Sinner In 48-hours?

by Anura Guruge

Click to ENLARGE. This from ‘People’. TMZ broke the story. Just Google ‘Michael Ketterer’ for more.

I could NOT believe my eyes when I saw this on Google News a few minutes ago.

Whoa. WHoa. WHOa. WHOA!

This guy portrayed himself as the Saint’s Saint.

He had Simon Cowell in tears.

And now this?

Please, don’t tell me it was the stress and pressure of the AGT Final.

He claimed that he had been through so much that that should have been but mere bagatelle.

Can he go back to being a pediatric nurse? I hope not.

Can he adopt anymore children? I hope not.

This is serious.

Full confession on my part. Those who know me know that I am a cynic’s cynic. A professional skeptic.

While his story impressed me, there was an element that it was ‘too GOOD to be true’. Somethings that did not gel. His tattoos and piercings were incongruous with the story he told. If he devoted all of his life to all of these kids he was raising he would not be spending money on tattoos and piercings. Think about it.

So, was it drugs? Was it alcohol?

He was Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer. Simon ol’ fruit. Over to YOU.

Prohibition Of Alcohol In ‘The Navajo Nation’ Is Counter-Productive & Inane.

by Anura Guruge

Sorry, BUT I do know what I am talking about here, and some reflective, ‘educated’, older Navajos — who have travelled some — agree.

Yes, of course, there will be initial mayhem, BUT that is a necessary price for the long-term gain.

The prohibition is a JOKE. An absolute joke. Wherever you go around Chinle, AZ, the roadside is littered with bottles and cans that once contained alcohol. Some folks have to be making a fortune bootlegging the stuff to places like Chinle. I suspect it is those that maintain pressure on ‘Window Rock‘ not to lift the ban.

I find the ban INSULTING to the Navajo. You are treating them like kids.

Yes, alcoholism, drugs, obesity and diabetes are HUGE problems. With a few exceptions nearly every Navajo you meet around Canyon de Chelly looks like they have a health issue. They also age so quickly.

But, just next door, in Colorado, drugs have been legalized. And the poor Navajos are considered too irresponsible to trusted with alcohol.

Lets just take the added pain upfront and look forward to the inevitable sanity that will come down the road.

I am a lone and small voice — from far-away New Hampshire. But, we have to speak up.

A wrong is a wrong and this is wrong.

Free the Navajo. Give them choice.

Anthony Bourdain, THE LOSER, Had The Audacity & Hypocrisy To Criticize Hillary Clinton Just Weeks Before His Suicide.

by Anura Guruge

Click to ENLARGE. Base story from “Fox News”. Google for plenty more.

By then, the ex-heroin addict loser, must have known that he was going to call it quits. What a loser; committing suicide leaving behind a 11-year old daughter. See my earlier post to see why I think he was a MORON to commit suicide. My criteria is very simple. Folks like Bourdain should try walking in MY SHOES for maybe just 2 hours. They will then walk away realizing how incredibly magical their lives are. Maybe I should offer this as new kind of ‘Good Samaritan’ anti-suicide program. Come walk in my shoes for 2 hours. You will realize how good your life is compared to what some of us endure everyday — and we never consider suicide as an option.

So, that is my major gripe with bloody Bourdain. That he took the easy way out leaving behind a young daughter. To I that is rank cowardice. Plus, I, as somebody who never ever succumbed (though some of my best friends were v. heavy users), I have no great respect from drug addicts. To I, they are weak human beings. Sorry.

So, bloody Bourdain has no right to criticize Hillary Clinton. She has her faults BUT they are not a patch on his. In major contrast to him, she is a fighter. Bourdain just gave up and folded.

Well, I am not going to get into Bill Clinton. Yes, some of what Bill did was plain wrong. But, he has a good heart. And even he is a better man than Bourdain — but that is not hard to do.

Just drives me nuts that people still try to lionize bloody Bourdain. He was no hero. He was a LOSER.

RIP.

Anthony Bourdain Should Have Walked 100-Yards In My Shoes To Appreciate How Awesome His Life Was!

by Anura Guruge

As the above two prior posts clearly demonstrate, I have absolutely NO bloody SYMPATHY for these spoilt, self-indulgent rich buffoons. What I have is total and utter contempt. They deserve to die.

Bourdain, from what I can see was the WORST of the recent bunch.

He left a 11-year old daughter.

He was a PIG for doing that.

I have a 12-year old daughter. I live for HER.

Bourdain, there was always something about YOU that never clicked with me. I kind of had a suspicion that you were a fraud, a con-artist.

Well, others can sign your praises. Not I.

They should try my life — even for just a day. I don’t have the fame or fortune. I haven’t visited France in nearly 25-years (and I fully appreciate that there are billions that have never visited France). IF I can go through life, daily, at 64, with nothing like the life that these celebrities live, why should I feel sorry for them. Their lives can’t be anything as bad as mine.

Yes, this will offend some, BUT somebody has to say this and somebody has to stand up and be counted. And I am.

I Stand By My Claim That “Hotstar” Is NOT For True Cricket Lovers!

by Anura Guruge

Pictures off my 47″ TV using my Google Pixel 2 phone.

OK, on Sunday (Day 2), I discovered that “Hotstar” live streams some of the IPL games, in full, and that there were full-length, versions of Match # 2 & Match #3. [Refer to images 1 & 2 above.]

But, NOT of Match #1. It says it is there, but all 10 hours of it is the IPL Auction! So, that is the bummer.

So, why am I still complaining?

Because, unless you watch ‘live’, which is not practical to most of us, you get SCREWED in terms of knowing the outcome of the match BEFORE you get around to watching it.

What fun is that in a T20?

So, here is the problem — and you can see it, clearly, in image 3 (above).

Before you can get to the replay you want, you are going to see ‘headlines’ like: “Ruthless Narine Slams 19-Ball 50“. So, now there is no suspense. You know Narine is NOT going to get out until he scores 50.

This is a bloody joke.

This IPL coverage is for those with ADHD and on drugs.

It is NOT serious cricket coverage. The cricket has been trivialized for the mobile phone set.

IF you are a genuine cricket fan like I, you will understand … you will appreciate.

This is NOT cricket!

Why Did Amazon Send Me 3 Bottles Of “Brain Octane Oil”, 16 Oz, Unasked & For Free!

by Anura Guruge

This has me concerned.

I know and appreciate that Amazon knows EVERYTHING about me including that I rarely wear underwear.

They also know that I have been a dynamite, extremely reliable and loyal customer for nearly 20-years.

So, when they send me $70 of “Brain Octane Oil“, for FREE, unasked (never mind unsolicited), it gets me WORRIED.

What have they detected in my keystrokes? That I am not as decisive as I once was? That it takes me longer to place an order.

YIKES! I haven’t, as far as I know, screwed up TOO MUCH of late, i.e., returned stuff.

But, obviously they know something.

They also sent a small bottle of some blood pressure medication. This is bad.

I am worried.

What do YOU think I should do.

NO. NO. N000000000! I have not tried it yet, though somebody else did.

Having spent 64 years making sure not to mess my brain I am not sure I am going to try anything now — especially as my brain is entitled to its slow decline. I never did drugs because I did not want anything interfering with my brain. So, why would I try this?
