I do not have a problem with camera makers charging $2,000 (or more) for an advanced camera boy or for a very high-quality, very fast lens — though, of course, like anyone else I would prefer lower prices.
But, today’s camera bodies and top-end lenses are technological miracles. There is so much innovation, technology, componentry and labor that goes into them, Just like getting a high-end smartphone or computer.
But, $70 for a lens hood. Just a cheap piece of plastic. That is criminal. That is stupid. There is no way I will pay for such. You can get 3 lens hoods, though not snap-ons, on Amazon for $7.
I am really disappointed and disgusted with Canon. You don’t set out to rape customers so.
My palms with their end-to-end Simian Lines.
About 10% of the worldwide population have ONE Simian line — with the incidence among Asians higher than with other races.
Having an end-to-end Simian lines, going across both palms, is much rarer — about 3% of the worldwide population. Yes, it is supposed to indicate possible latent health issues. Total bunkum. I will get to that in a second.
I grew up in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) where palm reading is a way of life. I got many comments about my hands — the most memorable from an uncle who was a prominent doctor. “Hhhhmmm. We will have to keep an eye on you. I have only seen hands like this once … and that was with …“. It was a notorious ‘criminal’!
BUT, in the end, astrology notwithstanding, my hands show I am LESS evolved than others! Yep, I am more primitive.
Yes, it is the primeval palm crease from our way distant ancestors and it is common among the other primates. So, I know the truth.

Nobody else seems to be raising this.
Not sure he has any immunity. Is the good jude waiting for the right time. Appears that sentencing an offender to jail for 30-days is a piece of cake for a judge. Maybe he is waiting until mid-October. Or maybe just ahead of the convention. Either would be hilarious and, of course, unprecedented.
