Nice, easy to follow guide. Just note that the times are LOCAL. So, 5-6 hours ahead of U.S. Eastern.

Remember ‘D-Day 75‘ is June 6, 2019, not June 5. Huge day. You have to pause and give it some thought. Remember. Reflect. Rejoice!

This are at least 16 (yes, sixteen) D-Day specific posts on this blog, not counting all those on ‘Churchill‘ and the ‘RAF‘. So, please check them out. They all contain painstakingly researched images or videos. You will be amply rewarded.

I am a great admirer of D-Day.

I always pause to reflect on this day, June 6, 1944 — 9-years ahead of my birth.

D-Day, of course, changed the course of history — of course, for the better.

Yes, this being the 75th anniversary we will, quite rightly, see lots of gusto, pomp and ceremony. I wish we would celebrate it with similar vigor each and every year.

I was in London for the 50th anniversary. That was quite an occasion.

If NOT for the Allied heroics of this day we will NOT be speaking English.

June 6, 2018 “Peanuts” Cartoon Strip Honored D-Day Anniversary With “Snoopy” Swimming To Shore.

Aaaahh! That was so cute. It could be old, very old. It says, bottom right “6/6 Schulz” — but no year. I cannot remember seeing it before, BUT I could be wrong.

I guess Snoopy being so diminutive would have had to swim. As far as I recall, the MEN didn’t swim. That would have been impractical. But, I have seen images of them up to their chests in water.

Had to share this with you, in case you hadn’t seen it.

I always pause to reflect on this day. A Day that changed the course of history — of course, for the better.

Amazing that we don’t commemorate this day with more gusto, pomp and ceremony.

If NOT for the Allied heroics of this day we will NOT be speaking English.

So, the park was established on May 16, 1918. Neat.

This was just 2-years after the U.S. National Park Service was established — and around the same timeframe as the founding of Acadia.

I am not sure how widely this was marked and celebrated in New Hampshire. It should be a BIG deal. We, the State, make a LOT of money from the Park.

Well, the next time I am there, and I am sure to visit this year, I will tip my hat and remember that this is the Centennial Year.

The whole MH370 ‘saga’ makes me very sad and angry.

I just find it beyond the pale that none of the ‘Super Powers’ will step in and divulge what they have in terms of real-time satellite imagery. They just do NOT want others to know what their capabilities are.

It will be 4-years in two months.

This is unprecedented.

People playing games. Most of the bodies will be gone. Nothing left. How sad.

Australia is culpable. They screwed-up the initial search. But, they were never competent enough or adequately equipped.

This was true serendipity.

It was New Year’s 2018 & our 15th anniversary. We had gone to Portsmouth, NH, to eat somewhere ‘nice’ overlooking the water. Some of the restaurants in ‘Tugboat Alley’ were closed — no doubt because they must have been open late for ‘First Night’. Then I had the idea of going across the river to Kittery, Maine to see what they had next to the water. That is how we discovered “Warren’s Lobster House”. We have driven by it a few times and I have walked by it a few times too. But, we had never gone in.

We did ‘today’ — Monday, January 1, 2018.

Glad we did. GREAT EXPERIENCE. Our kind of place.

All the lunch/dinner meals come with soup and a salad bar — and the salad bar is GOOD. One of the best around here. Makes Ruby Tuesday’s look anemic.

Great service. Wine by the carafe.

We had the Lobster Rangoon special. That was not bad at all.

Teischan and I had salmon; hers plain mine with an amazing Maine blueberry glaze. Deanna had lobster stuffed haddock.

Food was good and there was enough. Great ambience, and even better views across the water.

Teischan had a fancy Sundae — which got rave reviews from her, and she knows her ice cream.

The attached ‘Gift Shop’ is cute and fun, and the ‘keys’ they give you to try and open the treasure chest entices you to visit. We bought some stuff.

Overall a warm, satisfying experience.

Will definitely recommend it to others.

I am already planning to go back! It was that good.

Made my day.
