Garmin ‘Venu SQ (Music)’ Side-by-Side On My Wrist With Garmin ‘Fenix 6 Pro Solar’.

by Anura Guruge

My friends at ‘Heart Rate Monitors USA‘ (HRM USA) again did me proud. I got a Venu SQ via UPS this afternoon.

Definitely a good looking, very attractive, CUTE watch. Much smaller & lighter, of course, than my Fenix 6. That has to be a given. Very different watches for two very different audiences. One, the Fenix is a rugged, AWD SUV, the Venu SQ a refined, luxury car.

I haven’t put the Venu through its paces yet. That will start tomorrow. I will first check distance & steps against the Fenix 6. I will keep you posted, of course.

Please click to access the “Heart Rate Monitors USA” (HRM USA) product page. You will not regret it. ONLY place to buy Garmins & Fitbits in the U.S. Honest.

Google Pixel 4 Image Naming That Starts ‘PXL_’ (Rather Than ‘IMG_’) Is Still A Timestamp — Now UTC In 24H Format.

by Anura Guruge

The change from ‘IMG_’ to ‘PXL_’ happened in Android 11. My Pixel 4 got Android 11 on September 10, 2020.

Though the image names are now longer it is still a TIMESTAMP.

The first part — the DATE — is still the same, i.e., yyyymmdd. So, 20200912 — 09 (September) 12th in 2020. That is easy & the same.

Then it is still the TIME. But, now in UTC (i.e., dear GMT). So, 4-hours ahead of U.S. Eastern (right now). So, 10am Eastern is 2pm in UTC — or 14 in 24hour format. So that is it. Then the seconds have been increased. But, easy enough to get the time in terms of hours & minutes. In UTC in 24hour mode. OK?
