Incident (a.k.a. ‘Fall’) Detection‘ was pioneered, with great success, on the Apple Watch 4 last year.

Garmin offered it, for the first time, a few weeks ago, on the new Forerunner models, such as the Forerunner 945.

Today, I received an e-mail saying it was also available on the Fenix 5 Plus, Forerunner 645M & Vivoactive 3M. I was pretty chuffed in that I do have a Fenix 5 Plus.

I, of course, immediately went looking for it. IT WAS THERE. It must have been in the 7.10 Firmware I downloaded to the watch April 29, 2019. I just checked. I am at 7:10 (cf413a9).

Support is also in ‘Garmin Connect’. I am at 4.18. Not sure when that was updated to that level.

But, I can confirm, and you can see the pictures, that I have it on my Fenix 5 Plus.

This is good. I am glad.

Feel bad for Fenix 5, FR 645 and Vivocative 3 owners. It can’t have been a storage issue. So, can’t see why they are only offering it on watches that have the additional storage (for music).
