‘FedEx’ ‘Tortoise & The Hare’ TV Commercial — You HAVE To Listen To The Song. Mesmerizing.

YouTube below.
I typically do my utmost to ignore TV ads. I either skip over them, change channels or read something until they are over.
This morning, as is my daily wont, I was drinking my first cup of coffee, lying in bed, with the TV onto MSNBC/CNN and reading news on my 10″ ASUS pad at the same.
THEN I heard this song. It sends tingles through me. I was like “what the heck was that?”
It was familiar and alien at the same time. I rewound the DVR to watch what it was.
It was a FedEx ad. Hhhmmm.
The song was not familiar but the immaculate guitar work and singing were mesmerizing. I listened to it a few times. Brilliant.
Really liked it.
Google to find out who the artist was. I failed! I thought it might be the British Johnny Flynn who did the soundtrack for the ‘The Detectorists‘. There are similarities in the guitar picking. I checked. I don’t think it is him.
I e-mailed the Ad company. They have not responded. So, IF you know who it is, PLEASE let me know.
In the meantime LISTEN to the song. You will THANK ME.
The Jack Williams theory.

I agree! I love this song. It was written specifically for the commercial, believe it or not. It doesn’t exist on its own. What a shame. It’s a lovely tune with such thoughtful and touching lyrics.
Wow. Agree. With you. What a shame. It is a great, catchy song. THANKS for sharing. Happy holidays. Anura
I had, and continue to have the same experience as you regarding this beautiful song and my inability to determine who it is. I’ve done the Google searches to no avail. I have not contacted Fed Ex yet, but perhaps a better idea is the contact the person responsible for the music production. I believe that person’s name is available. It is absolutely shameful and inexcusable that Fed Ex is not actively promoting this particular artist who’s short jingle is captivating, and leads one to believe that his greater body of work may also be fabulous.
I agree. I think I did e-mail the production company. PLEASE let me know if you crack this. Will be much appreciated. Heard it a few minutes ago on TV. Haunting isn’t it. Kind of 1980s. Thanks. Cheers.
When I first heard the commercial, I knew instinctively that it was Paul Simon. So I did a search and alas, it’s not paul Simon. So disappointed I can’t hear a 4:17 minute version of this song.
Interesting. Paul Simon was not a name that had come to mind. Someday we will get to the bottom of this. Keep digging PLEASE and let me know as soon as you find out. Thanks. Anura
It is so hard to describe what listening to the song did to me. It seemed to reach so deep within me that I almost want to cry. The artist’s voice is amazing. I agree that it sounds familar and alien. I can remember one other song that gave me the same feeling; “Lean On Me” I think by Curtis Mayfield.
Wow.It certainly has some je ne sais quoi. It definitely gets to you. FedEx is on a winner and they are milking it. Let’s hope we find the artist. All the best. Enjoy. Anura
I’ve been trying to find out who sings it! It’s a beautiful song but I’m having no luck with my search. Could you let us know when you receive a reply?
Thank you in advance
I sure will. But, you do the same too. Great publicity for FedEx — all of us trying to locate the artist. Happy holidays. Anura
Just a beautiful tune. Sounds like Gregory Alan Isakov to me. Check out his songs, like The Universe or 3 am, for example
Thank you for sharing. Was not familiar with Gregory Alan Isakov. Wow. He reminded me of Cat Stevens. You could be right. Thanks.
