That The FBI Can Reconstruct Shredded Documents is Bad News For Those That Rely On Shredders.
This morning on the news I heard that the FBI was reconstructing shredded documents in the Michael Cohen case. I thought I had misheard that. I rewound it and watched it again.
They were RECONSTRUCTING shredded documents.
What is the point of shredding documents if they can be put back together?
I will ask you that again. Why shred if all it does is slow down somebody from being able to access the document.
I Googled it. I was gobsmacked. They have been able to do this for years — with or without software help.
Made me laugh.
I have never owned a shredder or felt the need to shred a document. I kid you not. I must lead a sheltered life. So, I have never really worried about the ‘security’ of my old documents. Much of the time I throw my old documents away with the rest of the garbage. IF anybody wants to rummage through them … have fun. My credit card statements? So, what. People know what I buy. I do not consider it a secret. My medical records. Have fun. I don’t care.
So, this cracked me up.
Ahhhh! What a GREAT world we live in.
You need this type of, AT LEAST ‘P-5’ Security,
Micro-Cut Shredder IF you want added protection.
