Flowers Of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire — April 30, 2018.

If you visited this blog last Spring/Summer/Fall you would know that I LOVE posting pictures of flowers. I think it is because we, in New Hampshire, go through such a barren and bleak winter. The colors, shapes, texture and smell of flowers is an elixir after all that snow, ice, sleet and cold.

This, as you know, has been a cruel winter. Hardly any flowers as yet. So, I am even more anxious than in other years to get back to taking pictures of flowers.

Enjoy. If you do not like pictures of flowers I really have no sympathy for you. Just get used to liking them. {Smile}

Did Trump Break John Kelly’s Fingers For Calling Him, The President, “An Idiot”?

by Anura Guruge

No disguising that or making out that it is something else. That is a finger-brace for treating severe finger trauma. As an ex-Rugby player I know. Finger injuries, accidental and otherwise, are very common in Rugby.

Poor Kelly. Trump is obviously bigger and stronger — in every way.

That will teach him to call President Trump ‘an idiot’. That was an idiotic thing to do — but of late that is ALL Kelly has been doing.

Well, I doubt whether this will be Trump’s only retribution against him.

The sad thing is that Kelly will NOT be able to give the White House ‘The Finger’ when he is escorted out this coming Friday.

When Did Restaurants Stop Giving Us ‘Free’ Bread Before We Ordered?

I have been meaning to write about this for years …

Have YOU noticed? This, however, could just be a north, east coast phenomenon. It was interesting that I found articles about it in New York and Boston newspapers — and quite recently at that.

We eat out a fair amount — twice this last week. Each time I noticed that you no longer get any ‘munchies’, let alone bread, ahead of your appetizers. Just the drinks your order.

It was very different, of course, just 5-years ago. There were restaurants that were RENOWNED for their complimentary bread. Remember the bread and oil phase.

What happened?

Of course restaurants are saving a MINT on this — and people will be ordering more since they can’t fill up on bread.

Yes, I can appreciate that things got ‘tricky’ with all this gluten-free, nut-free requirements. But, you would have thought that they could have been resourceful. Yes, of course, the cost savings would have been hard to resist.

I do know one thing. This started to happen post 2013 — around the same time I went on my low-carb diet. That is probably the reason I don’t notice it as much.

I just can’t remember whether this ‘no bread’ dictum is also true on the West coast. I was last there 2-years ago and can’t remember the bread situation. PLEASE let me know. I would love to update this post. Maybe even create a ‘bread’/’no-bread’ map of the U.S.

OK, I am going to get ambitious. I am going to ask around … the World.

Michelle Wolf’s Entire 19-Minute Monologue At The 2018 “White House Correspondents’ Dinner”.

by Anura Guruge

I liked it. But, it was kind of my humor. Yes, a few that were a bit mean and uncalled for.

I wasn’t familiar with her. She is good. Was rather self-conscious, but that was to be expected. 32-years old.

I hope the media is kind to her tomorrow. As she said at the start ‘she has no agenda’.

But, if you haven’t seen it, you really must watch the whole video.
