This is a BIG Holiday to us Scots — and my Scottish heritage, via adoption, is well documented here. Not as big as Hogmanay but close — and a warm-up for Hogmanay which will be but 31-days hence.

Patron Saint of Scotland — among others, BUT it is Scotland that counts. Other than Trump and Putin who really cares about Russia? {Smile}

St. Andrew is also, vicariously, a part of us British and his fame is immortalized in our GLORIOUS Union Jack.

So, with no further ado, let me please wish you a “Very Happy St. Andrew’s Day 2017”.

Cheers.

The New “Mooyah” In Rochester, NH, For A Double Burger For Lunch.

Mooyah” Burgers ¤ Fries ¤ Shakes opened at the Rochester, New HampshireMarket Basket‘/’Petco‘ shopping area — right next to ‘110 Grill‘ — quite recently.

Since I am partial to burgers, sans the bun, I was eager to try it out.

Got the chance on Tuesday when we went to ‘Market Basket‘. I walked across around 2pm.

Pretty fancy. Wasn’t crowded. LOT of staff — all exceptionally cheerful & friendly.

A tad pricey. More diner-like pricing rather than Wendy’s or Burger King. But, you can make your own burger. I liked that.

It was good. I didn’t have any fries or a shake. NO HOT DOGS.

Gather it is a chain/franchise from Texas.

It is NOT Shake Shack.

I might go again. Might not. Not sure. They didn’t totally ‘wow’ me over, but I am willing to give them a few tries. Must take Teischan. That would be the acid test; whether she gives the burgers a thumbs up. She is a burger connoisseur.

I am a great fan of the ‘Doppler Effect‘ and as such was very happy to see this Google Doodle.

I did not realize that Doppler was that ‘old’ nor that he was Austrian. I would have had him 50-years younger and had thought he was German — but given that we are talking about 1803 that was ‘close’. {Smile}

This Doodle is only being shown in Austria. So, enjoy it here.

Discover Card’s FREE ‘Credit Report Activity’ Monitoring Seems To Work.

by Anura Guruge

I like my Discover Credit Card.

I have had it since 1991, i.e., I have been a member for 27-years. During that time I do not think I have ever had a problem with them.

Something about them. They just, always, seem different — but, in a GOOD WAY without fail. They just seem so eager and happy to please.

Recently, following the criminal Equifax debacle they sent me an e-mail offering FREE social security number monitoring on credit reporting services. If they saw my ‘social’ appearing on credit report they will let me know — for free. I signed up and it was easy enough.

Today, for the first time, I got this e-mail.

I checked it. It was bona fide. An new account I had opened. So, it works. I am happy.

Spanish Seville’s Official 2017 Christmas Poster Shows Archangel Gabriel In A Whole Different Light.

I read and saw this in today’s
U.K. “Daily Mail
which I read a few times a day!

It is a poster to put up around the City that says “Christmas Saville 2017” (in Spanish).

Interesting imagery and on top of it, the most masculine Gabriel I have ever seen.

What were they thinking? Maybe they were indeed trying to tell us something.

Enjoy.
