A segment of the Bayeux Tapestry that shows the whole lead-up to the battle and the battle itself. It is 230′ long. I have a picture of a part of it in my bedroom.

A red-letter day in all of World history. Most people know that it was in 1066 BUT I am not sure that they recall that it took place on October 14th. It lasted just the day, from around 9am to dusk. Harold Godwinson, the LAST Anglo-Saxon King of England, died towards the end of the day — supposedly from an arrow that pierced his eye.

Halley’ comet was seen in the skies earlier that year and is depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry.
