The ‘Battle Of Hastings’, That Pivotally Changed British History, Took Place This Day, 951-Years Ago.
A red-letter day in all of World history. Most people know that it was in 1066 BUT I am not sure that they recall that it took place on October 14th. It lasted just the day, from around 9am to dusk. Harold Godwinson, the LAST Anglo-Saxon King of England, died towards the end of the day — supposedly from an arrow that pierced his eye.
