‘Candy Dance’ For The Kids From “Honoring Of The Elders” Pow Wow — YouTube Video.

This took place about 2 hours after the dancing started (at noon). It is a dance (and tradition) meant to teach children discipline and community participation. Very cute. A cross between an Easter egg hunt and musical chairs. When the drumming stops you try to pick up as much candy and toys as you can. But if the drumming starts again you have to drop everything you have picked up. So that is the musical chairs part. They don’t know how many times the drumming will stop and then start. However, when the drumming stops for the last time — you get to keep all you collected — candy and stuffed toys in the main. Very good. Video also gives you an idea as to the EXCELLENT singing and group drumming.
